Anther question for you people see if you can fix this one :D

With the side lights on the drivers side indicator lights up? (side light don't) with headlights on it go,s off.
Indicators work as normal Im thinking bad earth?
Ive got the head light off the car, just out of interest how do you change the indicator bulbs should you need to.
 
No, bad sidelight bulb, indicator comes on to indicate which side the fault is.

Indicator bulbs, 2 off, simply remove bulb holder.
 
It indeed seems to be a faulty side light bulb that i can get to work at the moment, bulb light is also showing on the dash board.
Never heard of indicator lighting up through.
One of my bulb holder on the rear lights is also burnt out so im using the holder out of the reverse light at the moment
are the holders the same as any other model bm?
 
That's just how it is, the car is programmed that way.
Look on real oem and find the part number, or call soper bmw lincoln amd mention the forum for decent price and free delivery.

where are they based? prices are all in $
 
Well ive still got this problem with the side light,
All light are working except this one drivers side light witch is knocking on the indicator.
Ive read that even a cheap side light bulb could be the problem even if its tested as working off the car.
Anyone heard of this?
The bulb icon out is on the dash to.
 
So what have you done to fault find?

Swapping sidelights over would be the first step to see if it is the bulb.
 
Fitted new bulbs and tried the old ones in a different car, Worked ok.
Im thinking its a wiring fault but the rest of the lights are working ok.
 
OK so not a bulb fault. Could be the holder, if you can't get a multimeter on them to test the next step is to swap those - the pins will come out but don't force them.

Tracing wiring faults can be a nightmare - I don't think there is a fuse for sidelights. If you're not handy with electricals then your best bet will be to take it to an auto electrician.
 
They should be replaceable but may not be. If the pins are removable there will be little sprung tabs to depress and possibly a clip to get them out. Brain over brawn job, don't force them :)
