Electrical System Shutdown

I purchased a '03 2.5L beauty with only 24,000 miles four days ago. The car is a dream and has been running like one. But tonight after driving home from work I stepped out of the cockpit and noticed that there seemed to be a lot of "settling" noise from the engine. I sat there listening to it for a while and got a bad feeling (that is probably unrelated to the actual problem). So for whatever reason I got back in and tried to fire it up but it was dead in the garage. Nothing. No dash board lights, nothing. Even the key wouldn't work. Not knowing what to do I just sat there starring at the car for a few minutes. About 4 or 5 minutes later I tried the key again and the doors responded. So I hopped back into the cockpit and she fired up as if nothing happened. Now I'm afraid to drive to work tomorrow (after showing off the car all day today, imagine driving to work and then it not starting and being stuck in the garage at work

Should I be worried about this? Any suggestions or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Glad its sorted - call me paranoid but I'd be tempted to give the car a quick 'sanity check' - you know, wheel nuts, oil cap etc etc. If previous owner was prone to leaving battery cables loose you never know...and a wheel departure at any speed is highly unamusing (not done it in the Zed but it mae a mess of my old Saab!)

Thanks for the replies, I really appreciate it. I agree, LeeME3, I will have the car taken in and given a good once over this weekend.

FYI, Here's a picture... I'm so proud!!! :D
