Electrical issues? Remote locking and auto lights

Over the last couple of days I've noticed that my lights are always on in automatic mode. This is only a recent thing and I usually leave the lights in auto all the time. This morning I drove in glorious sunshine but the lights remained on - had to put them manually off.

Also over the same period I've noticed my remote locking and unlocking isn't working very well - this happens with both keys (though one probably isn't charged as it's been sitting in my desk drawer for months). It's as if the sensor is faulty - when it gets a sig Al the doors lock and unlock as usual, as does the boot -so it's not a mechanical problem.

Do the two systems use the same or similar sensors? I'm wondering if either or both have failed. Otherwise any suggestions what the issue could be?

Note only a few days ago I had a parking sensor replaced that was damaged when someone scratched the rear bumper. These problems have only happened since the replacement though given the chap said he replaced it without even removing the bumper I'm not sure how this can have had an effect - seems like too much of a coincidence though...

ok so remote locking is still intermittent, and some research indicates it might be the sensor in the rear view mirror. Will contact a couple of indies to see if i can get this repaired.

update on the lights - they do appear to be working (i've seen them go on and off), but there's a big delay on when they come on and go off, plus they seem to stay on in quite bright conditions. so i'm wondering if the sensitivity needs adjusting? i still don't remember them being like this until recently, so is there any reason why the settings may have changed?

I posted something similar recently. Apparently there is a delay to stop them cycling on & off too often with shadowy areas and sunlight, and sometimes seems to be linked to the frequency of the light itself rather than just the brightness.

I'm not sure how they measure the light but they are designed to work when the sun is lower down towards the horizon even in full daylight (maybe wavelength as you say?), as well as when it gets dark. Mine often come on during an early morning drive to work in the summer. My new Mini auto lights are pretty random as well, maybe it's a BMW thing? :?
