Electrical issues on ebay Z4

Has anyone else seen this on ebay?

It's got electrical issues as the owner connected a battery to it the wrong way round! Would have thought it would be a simple fuse or two? What are peoples thoughts? Surely the Germans would have for-thought such a heinous crime? Built in some sort of protections?
 
no, they didn't. you will probably need an alternator and a battery. It depends then on what he tried to turn on. If he tried to start it then you could be looking at ecu, ews, dash possibly. remember fuses blow on excess current not reverse polarity, different beast altogether.
 
That's really interesting. The price doesn't reflect the risk you've outlined?
I guess the only thing swinging for it, is that it's a 3.0 and not registered as a "CAT".
