Electrical component identification

Hi,

Can anyone help me out please?
I'm trying to identify the part circled in the picture attached. This is on a 2006 E86.

As shown, it's a small rectangular 'box' with 2 wires going into it. Located just below and to the right of the servotronic motor.

On my car the 2 wires have rubbed through the insulation and are corroded. I have a feeling they could easily break due to the corrosion. Just don't know what it is or what it does.
Thanks,
Andy.

I’m not 100% and I can’t find it on the oem diagrams

But I think it’s a suppressor of some sort

It's probably a part of wiring harness (there are 2 listed in the engine section in the ETK). Don't know what it does.

Yes, I'm struggling to find it anywhere.
Suppressor sounds like a good guess. I wonder what will happen if the wires do break. :?

Looks like it is a suppressor. Found this where the question has already been asked:

It doesn't sound too critical to the cars operation
