Has anyone else encountered problems with their Z's electric windows?

My drivers side has packed in, made a horrible cruching noise the other day when going down, now doesnt work. is being repaired under the warranty I got with it, but the passenger side has now also started to make similar crunching sounds didnt knwo if this was a commen problem ?

Same thing happened to mine recently...the cable has a tendency to snap...

...I managed to source a secondhand replacement for £60. It's an awkward job but not beyond the average DIY mechanic.

the same thing happened to mine recently. I do think sometimes that the Z4 build quality is a bit like an airfix kit !. every other car i have ever owned has felt far more solid.

you know what! my wife bought me a z4 last year and I have had to replace the compression tank which was relatively easy, then I got a puncture (run flat tyres) not a problem easy fix BUT then my passenger side window cable snapped (electric window) so me being handy decided to order a repair part and mended it myself. Unfortunately, the window now goes DOWN at the up press and UP on the down press, you know, if it wasn't for bad luck, I wouldn't have any now how do I fix it???
