Electric windows only going down

Both my driver and passanger side windows only go down. I can operate the switches in both directions but the windows drive down any which way the switches are operated.

I’ve noted reset procedures on other threads but no luck so far. The only way I can get the windows up is by running through a partial hood sequence (open and closed) which raises the windows back up at the end of it.

Has anyone had the same?

It’s worthy of note that the passanger side was working ok and was only the driver side that was faulty until I recently. I’ve had a flat battery in between.

Thanks!

Needs a reset mate. Key to pos 1. then windows up & down 3 times then start engine.

Cheers, tug

Thanks for the reply. I’m pretty confident it needs a reset but when I put the windows down and hold, I still can’t get them back up! Not sure if you have any experience of this?

I’ve tried this reset procedure a number of times without any luck. Getting a bit frustrating now!

Strangely, when I operate the passanger side window using the switch on the passanger door, the passanger side window works as expected.

When I operate the 2 switches on the driver side door, both windows misbehave (only opening). Does this sound familiar to anyone?

Probably a dodgy window switch, get a replacement assembly from Ebay, plenty knocking about.

Thanks for the help. Managed to fix it today. Took the switch assembly apart. Noted some tracking on the PCB. Gave it a clean up with some alcohol and now works a treat!

Good on ya mate  Its so satisfying when you get small probs sorted at no cost.

Cheers, tug
