Electric roof motor

Today I managed to extract the roof motor out the swamp and it's currently dangling drying out in the boot, there's a fair bit of rust
Can the electric motor be salvaged or do I go for the £100 eBay motor ?

use diesel and WD40, then give it a good lube it should be ok

can you turn the spindle using pliers?

I've not tried to separate it yet but will give it a go now the feeling has slowly returned to my achy bits, it's tricky if you small shoulders and maybe left handed and I'm neither
Thanks I will definitely try to see if it will recover

I took the motor apart and emery cloth and airline to shiny everything inside , one brush was stuck probably the reason it wasn't working but it's now spinning like new connected up to a battery
It was seeing the other thread about getting the motor out problems now knowing it's doable but awkward lying in the boot

Just be sure to clean the drains out both sides not just the motor side even though your relocating it to the boot
