Electric polishers - Dual Action or not?

Since I didn't get a polisher off Santa despite many hints I guess I will have to purchase one myself.

All I want is to make it easier to polish and wax my car or at least get a better finish for the same effort as when doing it by hand which usually takes about 6 hours graft over two days to give it two coats of each. The car is only a year old so no swirls to take care of and would like to keep it that way. I have read many articals stating dual action ones are best (Particularly the DAS Pro 6 I understand) but you pay for that option. So not wanting to spend a fortune any recommendations and advice would be most welcome from more serious detailers.

Been looking at these myself and have pretty much decided on the meguiars microfibre kit.
What is the difference between the das 6 and the das 6 pro?
The pro says 5" pads and the original says 6" pads.
What is better?
Is the smaller pad easier to work with?

I bought the DAS6 Pro 18mths ago and use it with 150mm/6'' pads.

I started off with the AF Revitalise system, still have the pads but I now use Megs 105 and 205.

I was new to the machine polishing lark but as above, with a DA, you will struggle to do any damage to your paint. If you're not too confident then try and get a scrap panel from a breakers yard and practice on that.

Take a look at Junkman vids on YouTube, loads of info there for noobs, other than that, my tip would be start of with the least aggressive pad and polish combo, as your paint is pretty new, you'll only need a polishing/finishing pad coupled with a very light polish.

If you were local to me I'd let you have a practice with mine initially. Take a look at Clean Your Car as they have good deals on polisher kits.

If you're looking at purchasing purely for sealants and buffing wax off then something like DAS 6 PRO is a good machine to start off with, like the previous poster said take a look at clean your car for various packages. You'll be looking at £115+ for this machine. I started with this machine many years ago, it is a solid work horse but at times especially on German paint struggles to perform. You may find that you'll get frustrated down the line and want to upgrade.

Throw is very important in a machine (the bigger it orbits), the larger the throw the quicker you'll see results.

Next level up would be the Pro plus which has the larger throw and if you decide or need will help correct the paintwork down the line. £160 without pads.

If money isn't an option then I would highly recommend the Flex 3401 which a hybrid between a random and orbital machine. This is a extremely powerful machine but incredibly safe. This is my go to machine with hex logic pads, with very little vibration you'll find the hours and panels slipping away. From £280 without pads.

Hi, I have an old bosch GEX 150 AC. Never done any machine polishing before but watched a couple of youtube vids. I have just purchased hex logic orange and white pads with megs 105 & 205. The 150mm backing plate on the GEX150 is pretty hard.

From the specs of the machine I notice that the orbits are not very big - will this machine and pad combo be fairly SAFE for a newbie? Just wanted a bit of advice before I start on the Z4 on how safe this will be??

I have quite a few scratches I want rid of... (clearcoat)

Sorry for the Hijack...
