Hi guys,I’m trying to make my mirrors fold in/out when car is locked/unlocked apparently you can do this on Carly, but it didn’t work for me.It says is the manual you can program the keys to do this,I’m guessing this is at bmw dealership, any other way to do this?

mine is the same except for UE at the end.

Weirdly I have another handbook from my old 2.2 which didn’t have folding mirrors which doesn’t have programming advice. 01 41 0 157 102 en
Maybe you got a different handbook if you had electric folding mirrors.

Its odd - i do have electric folding mirrors though!

I don’t know then, you’re also interested in programming the mirrors then I presume.
Also I notice 2.2 book has 108 pages 3.0l with folding mirrors has 113 🤣

I retrofitted folding mirrors, but despite many attempts with NCS Expert I've not managed to code them to fold/unfold automatically.

I have folding mirrors on my e85 but have never managed to get them to fold on locking ( not with Carly anyway ). Think the cars are too old for this function?? ...goit it to work on my 2010 x5 with Carly

Well according to my handbook key can be programmed to do this,it’ll be fun trying to explain this to my local French main dealership 🤣

Not possible to fold with Carly, or other coding software. Quite a few have tried, I think it's missing some sort of module (which the e46 had).

Maybe it's one for James to investigate... [ref]iamorion[/ref]. Probably quite a few interested including me if you can do something similar to the sport button! :D

I've just read the extract from your manual.
I don't think it does say they can be programmed to fold. It says you can have each key set to adjust the mirror angle. So if two people have a key each it remembers where they want the angles set.

Good shout, perhaps this function is not possible after all.

it is possible to code the car to fold the mirrors on lock, as i have done it, however its NOT possible to code to unfold.

SPIEGELABKLAPPEN_GM - folding mirrors with lock/unlock, i only got it to work on lock.
Not such a bad thing really. If you had to squeeze in tight to a wall for example, you wouldn't want them popping out when you unlocked it.

On the G29, I believe, it only unfolds them if it folded them in automatically in the first place - if you pressed the button to fold them in yourself whilst parking, they won't unfold until you press it again regardless of the fold/unfold-on-lock/unlock setting. So BMW had certainly thought about this for later cars, hopefully also on the earlier models!

Indeed! The amount of times my missus rings to tell me the 1-series mirrors are stuck in!
I have to patiently explain she's obviously leant on the button as she got out.......................again!
Often this is combined with one or more windows mysteriously being down an inch or two.

So basically I need a laptop and acquire NCS expert to do this, coding, neither of which I have,
Maybe something to do in the future then,is NCSexpert free to download?
