Only had the Z for a few days and been slowly cleaning her up dodging this weird and wonderful weather.

Seeing as it was raining today I managed to clean the interior pretty well but noticed the steering wheel, gear knob and hand brake were all a bit sticky feeling. I grabbed this out of the cupboard which I use to de-grease the oven and clean the occasional pan and it worked wondered removing the grease and grime from the steering wheel. Just thought I would share in case anyone else had the same sticky feeling! Unless someone is now going to tell me it’s no good for the leather :|

In fairness, i've seen glowing reports of the 'Magic Sponges' for deep cleaning our leather wheels - i can imagine the chemicals not being dissimilar.

That said, it'd be good to get some leather conditioner on there to protect it now

I'd say the same, conditioner/restorer to make sure it's protected.

Generally I'd stick to safer leather only products - like those you get for car leather (since the wheel is also leather). You clean with a "cleaning" solution and brush. But yours looks fine, just make sure you follow up with a "conditioner" solution.

The stickiness you refer to on the stealing wheel spokes could be the original rubberised coating braking down.
I used Auto Glym interior cleaner which removed the coating to reveal a semi gloss black finish with no tack.

In the rim use leather cleaner

I'm all for keeping things simple Johnson Baby wipes for the dash. They just do everything and don't do any damage. On leather surfaces I run a nourishing leather wipe over, after cleaning first with the baby wipes.
