EL. trouble, no el windows, no remote cntr., no el hatch

Z4 E85 2,5l N52 6 speed man. mod 2006 and as far as I konw doesnt this car have a body control modul. Can you please tell me what to look for when remote cntr, el windows, el hatch, inside light (can be more) doesn`t work. I have checked the fuses in the ordenary fuse box but they are ok. Please help if you have any suggestions.

You need to get a good code reader on it first.
Otherwise you’ll be grasping at straws

Yes they do. Known as the GM5. Are there any other modules it cannot connect too? If so then it’s possibly one of the control modules corrupting the k-bus.

No it is only this it can not connect to. So I guess it is not getting any power. Where is this GM5 located

On a RHD car it is up behind the glovebox in the top left corner.
Apparently on LHD it is mounted to the trim panel?

okay. Thank you I will have a look at it. I also looked at TIS and looks like the light cntr module gives power to window and indoor light, and I have changed this unit once earlier. I rutur after som checking. Thank you it was lots of help. My motivation was about to let go, but because your help I am back at the track

Good luck.
If it turns out to be a GM5 issue then you may be able to get yours repaired.
When it's out, check the label to see if it is a '5RD' or a 'Star 12 Low'. Not interchangeable.

Found the trouble. It was main light switch. Bought a used one and now my car comes with a new vin number, But now the el system works as it is supposed to work.
So the next issue. when I switch off the engine my radio also switch off which is good, the trouble is the aftermarket screen. It does not switch off. I can maually push a botton which make the screen black But it is still working and dry out my battery in about 12 houras. Always something to do when you got an old BMW

You can code the new LCM with the correct bin and odometer reading using Scanner 1.4.
So it was a module affecting others on the k-bus then.

Yes I changed the switch and then all the el components and remote cntr worked. It did not solve my battery drain trouble so I will start trouble shoot it to day. I think it comes from my android screen because when I switch off engine the screen is still on, even when I push the botton on the screen it turns black but are still working
