So, recently, we've had the £8.49 rear discs at ECP and yesterday it was a cheap Pagid caliper at Halfords which led to £22 front discs which I thought I really better avail myself of pronto.
I went to Halfords web site, shoved the discs in the basket and thought I'd check out the pads at the same time. Pagid front and rear pads were both £17 a set either end so, bang, they fell in the basket too. That made a total of £79; bargain thinks I. Then I noticed I can stuff my Halfords trade card number into their online system and, bosh, down to £71. I've paid more than that for an axle set of discs before. Possibly even a single disc.
Interestingly, apart from ECP being Halfords parts supplier, I noticed that ECP is the only distributor of Pagid gear which made me suspicious it was at the level of their Eischer parts. Turns out Pagid is a brand of TMD Friction which also makes Mintex and Textar. All owned by a huge Japanese combine.
I seem to be robbing someone blind here, that's all four corners of the Z for £88. I spend more on meals out.
