Ejecting CD Changer Cassette? Am I doing something wrong?

Just tried ejecting the CD Changer cassette but it doesnt want to come out. Only picked up the car today so have never done one of these before, so maybe something I'm doing wrong.

So, with the car running I'm pushing the little green button at the base of the CD Changer. But nothing happens. Can't hear any noise like its even trying. Any ideas?

Is there absolutely no noise? Mine had a hiccup a while back where you could hear it trying to eject, but wouldnt.

Had to really pull it and shake it to come out....

Think you may have hit the nail on the head, there is an Ipod lead in that little cubby hole above the CD Changer.

How is the besy way to get to the back of it to swap it over again? Don't even have an ipod :D

Oh so its a significant piece of kit this Ipod thing then? Not just a lead plugged in where the changer should go?

Is there a way of having both changer and the iPod? My girlfriend has one so may be cool to have it in the car.

The cd changer isn't that reliable in my experience. They will obviously skip but the casset can also get jammed, I never did get the cd's out of my original Z4 :(

Much better to use the iPod cable since someone has hooked it up already, just splash out on a second hand one on ebay, the newer ones won't charge if the connection you have is the Intravee and Alpine unit, so an older cheaper iPod actually makes more sense.

Thanks for the tips, makes sense. To be honest I rarely listen to CD's either, 99/100 I've got the radio on. But I could make use of my GF's iPod, it just sits in a drawer at home :)

My CD changer is stuffed too... I really wouldn't waste too much time reconnecting it as they seem pretty unreliable. I've an AUX cable to fit when I have time...

Four hands needed. Hold the eject button down while tapping on the cassete with a wooden dowel with a light stroke with a small hammer. I emphasize light and small. Removing and replacing the changer might be more difficult than a heart transplant. But, with the National Health, isn't that just an office procedure?
