Hi all..

May well of been covered here before, but I was wondering if anyone has had any recent personal experiences - with the above subject, in either the 'Sport' or 'Pro Race' version / options?

Cheers

No experience, but a question. The variable exhaust on a 35iS is already efficient and dramatic enough already, isn't it?

Busterboo - agreed it’s efficient

However, having had a pair of Remus back boxes on the prior owned Z4M Roadster - I’m just not sure the standard 35iS system, does it the justice it deserves

Hi woolybear
Have sent a pm …
Before I read this.
Bit more to add… mine is only a 3.5i
It will sound even better on the 3.5is
And if you busterboo think you’re existing exhaust already sounds great, firstly, I’m concerned the eisenmann note might be too much for you, or … that you won’t hear enough of a change from yours and regret spending the money. Let me know how it goes. If you haven’t already. Look up eisenmann exhaust for our car on YouTube, Rey have quite a few , pay attention to thee differences between quad and twin in the two different videos. It’s a lot of money to get it wrong. I personally have not regretted putting it on the car GRIN FACTOR 5 🏎💨💨💨💨

The 35iS exhaust in Sport+, exploited with the DCT, is quite complex and, when pushed, too loud for grown-up use in towns and villages.

Well, most of the time.

Absolutely busterboo
Having a tiny 3.5i led me to want more 😂
No , honestly, I had an eisenmann on my e85 3.0
And just missed the sound sooo much… I hope woolybear isn’t disappointed if he splash’s the cash
🏎💨💨💨💨

The problem with fitting an aftermarket exhaust on the 35i or 35is is that you remove the secondary cats which limits your ability to remove the primary cats and still pass an MOT. Removing the primary cats gives you a load more power and makes the exhaust louder/deeper so is a much more appealing mod.

Also 35i and 35is will sound the same with that exhaust fitted, the only difference between the two exhausts is the rear silencer which the Eisenmann replaces.

It’s difficult to compare exhaust notes ( ) between two different cars, the 3.5i & 35i must have fundamental changes to each other :P

be interested to see what woolybear makes of your post.
Had I known this before I stuck the best part of 2k worth of stainless steel to the bottom of the car , I may have considered your option myself…. In short…. Where were you when I needed advice :poke: 😂😂

The Eisenmann sounds great so no it's not a waste but it does limit your options regarding performance increases in future. Removing the secondary cats doesn't really help in performance but it does increase the volume.

Just pulling your chain …. I’m very happy with it .
Thanks for the input though, woolybear might consider it himself? Be interested to see what he goes for…. I’ll rattle him with this but here goes…. He’s going for the girlie sport rather than the hooligan race !! ( GO BIG , OR GO HOME!! )
Just kidding paul 😂 but maybe talk to davros, he got a sport on he’s e85 , he’s heard mine, he might be able to give you he’s opinion on the two

Tbh, I don't think a 'grown up' should be utilising Sport+ through towns and villages.
A simple button press is all that's needed surely? :poke:

My initial question - now resolved and thank you, for all the inputs both public & private, also..

I’m keeping the beauty of the 35iS I have, as ‘She is’ - for now, as standard - as I purchased her.

However, I pushed the BIGG button today & paid a deposit, on a spanking new, Lotus Emira.
I’ll be waiting for the full phatt - Merc’

Yup, “life is for living” and damned well enjoying = Simples!

Hi and whilst, the spanking new Lotus Emira starts at close to sub £60,000 - I doubt MY ordered car will be anywhere near that ask and maybe, nearer to £75-80,000 once ‘comfortably’ specced..
Maybe more - whoooo knows?!

Far less than a Caymen GTS I suspect in similar spec’ & trim, etc
As, I tried to order a GTS Caymen earlier this year and was told it’d be the very latter end of 2021, maybe early 2022 at the earliest.
Ohhh & for silly money, also - in comparison, spec’ wise🙄

Everyone to their own  :driving:

Congrats on the order - my mate is the chief engineer at Lotus, I would only need 80% staff discount and I would be well away.

First thing I said was no way in hell that would be sub £60k when specced up, still a nice looking car and a bargain when an Elise is probably not that far off new
