Heey there,
Re: exhaust

I just ordered new eisenmann exhaust for my z4m coupé.
There were two versions: "sport" or "race" (not legal for road use)
I opted for "sport" to avoid any patrol/police control down here in monte carlo.
someone has the same spare part?

I have the sport version on my Z4M also. Before I bought my sport version, I sat in my friend's E46 M3 and he had the race version on his M3. The exhausts were much louder, but the drone was also unbearable to me so I ended up getting the sport version. My friend couldn't stand the drone either, and switched to another brand soon after.

I actually had never heard of the sport version in person before I bought mine, and was even worried that the exhaust might be too quiet. The Eisenmann exhausts for the Z4M hadn't even come out yet so no one had them either. I did, however, did a bunch of research on M3 forums and chatted with probably 20 Eisenmann Sport owners and not a single person gave it a negative review.

The sport version definitely isn't loud, but it does sound very deep and much more throaty than stock. You can easily tell it's aftermarket by the sound, but the sound is also not intrusive or ricey. You rev up the engine to 3k~6k and you hear the rumbles come alive. After 6k~7k RPM's, you pretty much just hear the engine noise only. When the exhausts were first installed, there was actually some drone and I almost decided to put the stock exhausts back onto the car after just 2 days. But as the exhausts were slowly breaking in, the drone disappeared after 400~500 miles. It's now been about 2.5k miles since I had the exhausts installed. On the freeway when I'm crusing at 60~65mph in 6th gear, for some weird reason, the exhausts actually sound quieter than stock, which is great when I simply want to cruise relaxingly.

heey GP20,
thanks for handing out your thoughts and sensation.
This is what I really needed as feedback.
I was not sure that 'sport' version was enough for my Z.
However, after your paragraphs I do understand that the sporty are ways enough.
I want to have deeper sound and a little bit more aggresive sounds, not changing and having a car destroying your ears!!
I do normally take the car and drive a lot say 1000km per weekend (600 miles), and when you said you could not even stay in that m3....
Did you install the exhaust by yourself? Easy? Or drive car to garage?
Thanks a lot for your information, tonight I will ask bank to wire the money to Eisenmann.

Had a friend come help me install the mufflers. No cutting or welding were required. Installation was easy.

FYI, we're doing an axle-back group buy from Fast Intentions...to minimize drone, cost and labor in swapping in and out with the stock system

more details to come...still in the works:

The person I bought my Z4 from had installed an Eisenmann exhaust but mine is loud, really loud but in a good way. I am guessing I have the race version? How can I tell?

btw how common is it for z4 owners to own a Wrangler? I've noticed a few in this forum, I own a z4 and wrangler and the guy i purchased the z4 from also had a wrangler.. weird.

LOL.

I am not sure. I picked up the wrangler while I had my previous, utilitarian Audi S4. It took only a few months of owning both when I realized I could afford not having a sedan now, and to get a sports car! I plan on keeping the wrangler for as long as possible though. The sport cars will be coming and going ;-)

My ideal combination for sure. I own the Zed, a Wrangler and a CJ10a (related to the CJ7)

Booo, just sold my wrangler tj to buy the z. must be something in the styling... gonna mis the jeep but not enough room for both.

Hey good to see you're still around
I have indeed still got the Jaaaag (4 'a's according to Jezza Clarkson), 2 Jeeps still, a rather nippy BMW EV, so I can pretend to be green, plus a 4.5 tonne truck arriving to move my toys around. Not really grown up too much..

Yep, still around and this time again with a Z4M  It has been a while with your first post on the X5 forum as well with your halo light conversion on the E53 pre-facelift version. I moved on from that to the X5M which I still have

No Brighton jobs for you I take it anymore?
