Eisenmann cat-back

Race or Sport? Is Race too loud? What about drone?
Anybody have this on their car and can advise?

Got just the Eisenmann backbox not the cat-back pipes after much hassle and now just waiting to fit it along with loads of other stuff  After a lot of ummmmmming and arrrrrrring I went race  because I think I would just keep saying to myself I wonder what the race version would have been like !

If you are taking out the silencers the Race may be too annoying . From what I have read on the internet leave the silencers on and go Race version .

However if it was my daily driver I might have gone sport .

I have race on my coupe and it’s not too loud at all. I’m considering getting the middle resonator removed to add a bit more noise but it sounds pretty good as is - OEM plus plus. Sounds fruity and pops and crackles well but substantially quieter and much more tuneful than a backbox delete. Has a metallic kind of sound a bit like an e46 M3.

Any video footage?

Not fitted yet so no footage but from when I was doing my research I looked at loads of you tube stuff to try and get an idea but most of the time what you hear on the videos is not true to life due to poor microphones on phones and cameras . The only way to truly know is if you know someone with the same set up . If not go with your gut

Got mine from a UK company that ordered it through there German supplier . As always with much of the stuff I order there was a problem due to Covid and then when the backbox turned up it had a welding fault so it had to be returned to Eisenmann . I was expecting it to be replaced with a new one but they just rewelded it and sent it back . I placed order in August 2020 and received rewelded backbox in February 2021 :headbang:

Fitted an Eisenmann Race a couple of years back. Back box only. I too was worried about it being to loud but rest assured it’s fine. It’s only mildly louder than stock at idle and low rpm but opens out into a nice throaty roar at high rpm.

Similar to chap above mine arrived after a long wait with some minor damage that was thankfully rectifiable.

Looks great, was it worth the money? Probably not as quite expensive but if you intend keeping the car you can justify it to yourself.

Having now fitted the race version I would not fit the sport as the race is not that much louder until you really get on it as devilishdoc mentioned . It does have a much better sound than stock .

I will try and get something sorted weather permitting but it never sounds the same as in the flesh especially if you don`t have a mega camera or phone :( .

This is a video of mine. What the phone can’t capture is the low frequency, particularly at idle, low revs. Quite a metallic sound further up the Rev range.

Just came across this thread, and due to no other tested alternatives for the 3.0 Si Sport, I'm also considering the Race version backbox through this place https://www.catune.co.uk/home.php

Been quoted £975 inc delivery from Germany, 9-12 week lead time, does this sound about right.

That’s where I got mine. Put a bit less but that was a couple of years ago and probably is about right now given inflation/shipping costs.
