Eight months later - 3.0si coupe

So after almost eight months of ownership here I am finally writing my introduction to the forum and saying hello. Some of you may recognise my new pride and joy as it’s no stranger to the forum, having bought it off a forum-regular back in January.

Coming from a remapped 120d it is a complete different kettle of fish, and can honestly say I have cherished every single one of the 6,000 miles covered so far.

I've done very little to the car during my ownership, the main reason being that all the mods done by the previous owner were spot on in my opinion. And my plans for the future are just as uninteresting; getting rid of the god-awful run flats when the tyre tread gets low enough to justify doing so. I keep looking at induction kits and exhausts but realise the performance gains are minimal, and since doing the sound generator mod I’m more than happy with the vehicle’s soundtrack so this is probably a no-go with my fists being as tight as they are.

It has all the toys I believe (cue the sound of gunshots) – electric adjusted seats, foldy-in mirrors, parking sensors, xenon headlights, voice control, satellite navigation, cruise control etc etc.

I taken the car to Spring Cleaning up in Northumberland last month and had it in the display section where it gained quite a bit of attention even when parked next to a M3. There’s also a potential European road-trip (inc. Nurburgring) on the cards for next summer.

I suppose I better give you a bit of background on myself since this is an introduction after all; I’m a crane maintenance technician and self-confessed car geek, I like football, I like beer, I like girls… and other things that most 22 year-old lads tend to like.

Oh and a word of warning, if I end up using this forum half as much as I did the last you guys will soon get sick of me!

Adios for now :D,

Tony

Welcome to the Forum

You owned your Coupe for 8 months ..
And didn't ask anyone here for help or advice ?
Well that is unfortunate cause there are a lot here who are very generous with their skill and expertise.
Better late than never :)
(Where did those emoticons go to ?)

22 and you drive a Zed !
Well done

Bumpy

Car looks great Tony!

Seems we bought at a similar time - another 22 year old here who just bought a Coupe! :D

Hopefully see you around at a meet some time :)

Welcome Tony. That feeling will never go by the way! Very stealth looking coupe.

Nice move Tony  i was wondering where Dan's Coupe went ?
A great looking car with some choice bits & glad you're enjoying it :driving:
Good to see the 224s still looking well , they are well travelled

Welcome to the forum 'officially' - great looking coupe, really moody looking shot of it; looks like a 'mean machine'

Welcome Tony

Glad you are still enjoying her (and looking after her by the look of the pic).

Get some more shots up. We like pictures on here :D

You've joined the (very) premium Coupe club, where true motorists lie
:fuelfire: I take it there's a bit of friendly banter between coupe and roadster owners on here then?

er, just a little :o

Welcome. Good choice with the Z4C obviously. I wouldn't want to knock anyone's car but there's something with the tyre and arch gap that doesn't look right - springs?? Looks lush otherwise
