Eibachs worth it?

Just wondering if these are an improvement in ride and handling to the Sport springs on a Z4 Coupe? I've read varying opinions.

Cheers. Did you do anything else or just the springs? Alignment, dampers? I wouldn't really want to spend too much, but if I can get a cheap upgrade :)

And it's a yes from me too.

Swopped mine over when I had a rear spring break, as the Eibach's don't have a history of snapping like the OEM M-Sport springs do. I haven't as yet swopped out the original dampers - although this is something I am planning to do.

Ride improved when compared to the standard springs (non run flats before and after) - slightly less crashy over road imperfections and improved seat of the pants feeling when cornering. At low speed, you might feel the car being a little more agitated, but this smooths out as speeds increase - this might be as much to do with the standard dampers being more towards the end of their travel as it is with the stiffer springs though?

Oh, and they look better too!

You will need a 4 wheel alignment though as the swop will put your camber completely out. It won't be able to be brought back within the OEM limits - there simply isn't enough adjustment to make that happen, but without it, tyre wear on the inner edges may be excessive.

How much to get all that done? Did you get it aligned afterwards, and what improvements have you noticed?

No, they were done just before I bought the car. However I know Skinner has recently done his, so he may be able to give you more info. I just know its a nice firm, but comfortable ride and it sticks to corners like its on rails !

It seems they do - I hope this helps!

I bought the Bilstein pro 12 kit which includes 4 shocks/dampers & 4 Eibachs. £730.
I've got a 2003 z4 2.5i. Because my Z isn't the sport package the new set-up dropped it down 30mm..nice, looks awesome too :D
I also bought OEM new rear spring mounting rubbers, rear and front top guides, rear bump stops, front guides and rubbers. £300
Topped this off with a Weichers Ali strut brace £160.
Then took it to black boots in Chesham for Hunter 4 wheel alignment £68
Fitted it all myself at 84,000 miles. Took 3 hours front and back.
The original rear shocks were f***ed and the fronts were useless.
Before fitting the new set-up the steering would tramline and it felt like the front wheels were floating as well as a LOT of body roll when cornering.
After fitting the new kit tramlining has been reduced 99.9% and the car sits firm. Very little body roll when cornering. I have run flats and the ride can be a bit 'responsive' over the London roads. But it's a sports car and that's how I like it to be, responsive, fast and fun. If I wanted a 'smoother more comfortable ride' I'd have bought a Range Rover

You can also get the B12 kit from Germany for about £550 plus €20 postage. This is what I did. I've also completely Polly bushed the front and rear. I can be quite firm but when you find a nice road the benefits outweigh the negatives.

I didn't really want to spend £500+. I'm not exactly too dissatisfied with the handling of the Z, so if going for Eibach springs improves ride, handling and looks over stock I'll probably be pretty happy with it. At those sort of costs I may as well go for coilovers?

Ha! Brexit, hehe. Best thing the UK's done for years...

True the kits is cheaper, but once the IBAN transfer fees have been paid and delivery then it comes in around £50 cheaper...That makes me feel better. Also if there's any problems with the kit then the return postage and hassle becomes more pricey. These guys also give 0% finance for 6 months so if you're strapped for the lump sum it's a good way to buy any Bilstein shocks you fancy :D

I don't know about IBAN fees as I paid price of b12 kit plus postage, that's all. Agree it's difficult if needing to return but luckily they've been perfect. Done nearly 10K on them now.
