Eibachs & poly bushes finally fitted (pics)

Well its seems to have been an age since I recieved my Eibachs and bushes through the post, I have had to wait a while before the garage could fit me in, But I finally got it back today, I immediatly noticed the ride height was lower But SWMBO was not impressed that it had cost so much for what she described as "no difference" She did however notice the difference when she went to sit in it and realised her arse was going lower before she hit leather :? .

The cars stance is different and to me it gives a slighty sportier look. As for the bushes, well I am probably not in a position to comment if there is a big difference between OEM and polys given that my OEM ones were f**cked anyway, so obviously there is a massive improvement in handling and the first thing I noticed is the steering is what it should be, immedietly responsive. the fact that it had a complete hunter alighnment will have helped the cause as well. The ride is harder than before but I was expecting that. The garage have told be to bring it back after 500 miles and they will make any adjustments to the geometry that may be required. I asked the the guys at the garage if I could take some pics when the bushes were fitted and it was still up on the lift, They looked at me like I was Peedo but agreed. :lol:

So all in all Eibachs all round, all four sets of bushes replaced with Poly's, Hunter alignment and a new tyre. £850. and she feels GGGREAT.

Btw, could someone Photoshop pic 10 for me and put clear lights on the back, not sure wether it will suit so would appreciate it if someone could help me out.

you defo need to get your hands on some new wheels though. why not get a cheap set off here and DIY refurb? could be a new set for about £400 then minus what you could sell your existing ones for

Mine has done 47K and the wishbone rear bushes were all but dead and front anti rolls were cracked, thought I may as well be consistent and get the whole lot done
Bushes were £164,50 for the four sets inclusive of VAT and delivery. Had to wait just under 2 weeks for them but was forwarned of the wait time before I placed the order. Great company to deal with both by phone and email.

Fitting was quoted to me as £350 as an overall to fit all bushes and springs and set up the alignment. so would guess probably looking in the region of about £150 - £200 :?

I can't wait to get my bushes in. Having problems getting the sway bar bushes. I'm a tad worried about the harsher ride, but all in all I'd rather better performance over comfort. I didn't get the car so I could plod along. I will also be getting an alignment done along with the bushing replacement. I plan on taking the car straight to a hunter equipped alignment place immediately after the new bushings are on.

I agree about the 103s. I was actually looking for a zed with 103s on because I think they suit the car perfectly.

The only alloys I would contemplate swapping them for is maybe the CSL reps I used to have on the 3 series.

Looks so much better.. is the ride noticably harsher on the eibachs? They are meant to be progressivly wound for a softer ride... but your still losing 15 (or 30) mm from standard.

I really like the 103's, just like that design. But I'm happy with my 104's for winter use unless someone bought them and I bought 103's instead...

I think the 103s look like daisys. would love a set of Wolfrace Luganos but my wallet says otherwise (so does SWMBO).

The ride height has been dropped by 30mm and you can feel the difference in the ride, it is harder and i swear if i drove over a coin i could tell you if it was heads or tails :lol: Speed bumps have become more of an issue than they were before, since getting the work done I have only covered 50 miles and won't really get an opportunity to give it a real test till the Skye run next weekend, but so far Loving the new set up.

My immediete next door neighbour who takes a keen interest in my Zed commented today that it looks really planted and gives a meaner look, gave me a thumbs up, I tried not to swell with pride as I continued to wax on wax off.
