Got to ask, do you normally maintain the paintwork yourself or do "clean detail" look after it for you? i think the results speak for themselves about the quality / attention to detail from them. I was thinking of getting someone to do "our" car for the first time (clay bar / wax etc), maybe they are the people?

Thanks Greg :thumbsup: I can report no rubbing on full lock. Only problem I have experienced was on the lakes run last week. When cornering hard and you hit a big dip in the road mid bend (of which there a plenty on the roads we blasted along) there was a slight scuffing noticeable of the front tyres on the inner plastic arch liner. I also hit the bump stops a couple of times.. Bear in mind though that this was hard spirited driving on roads which are very bumpy with large dips and crests. Not the type of roads or driving style that I will be doing every day so it doesnt bother me in the slightest.

Rubber is Avon ZZ3 235 on front and 265 on rear

I always wash the car myself with the two bucket method etc and am always very conscious of drying the car properly and I regularly wax the car and seal the wheels. There were however quite a few swirls present that were starting to annoy me. I just didnt have the time or skill level to correct it myself. Ive decided to have it detailed by cleandetail at least once a year maybe twice dependant on how the paintwork holds up. I will continue to wash the car in my usual method and regularly wax as suggested by Nick at Cleandetail.

If you are considering getting it done I can highly recommend them. :thumbsup:

Did you go for 30 or 35s for depth....sidewall looks paper thin?
 
How are you finding the Avons, whats the rim protection like. I'm in need of new tyres and fancy trying something different to the Falkens, I was urring towards Vreds Sessantas but Camskill currently have no 265 Vreds and I'm looking for inspiration of which way to go.
The Z does look good, just watch inner liners mine didn't rub for ages but once it started :headbang:

Hi Richard.. Funny you should meniton the inner liners.. they started rubbing on the lakes trip last weekend. Granted it was quite spirited driving on very bumpy roads. Could hear the tyres catching and I hit the bump stops a couple of times too.. Not a nice sound at all :(. Suppose its a trade off for the better looks, comfort and handling. Cant say Ive noticed any rubbing on normal roads / motorways though. Well not yet at least anyway :?

As for the Avon's I think they are great. Very good grip in the dry and good enough in the wet. Much better than the RFT's anyway. Obviously I cant compare them to the Falkens or the Vreds as Ive never had them. Wear seems pretty good aswell and the tread pattern is pretty cool..

Rim protection is the only downside really. Theres not much. Im just extra careful when it comes to parking and would rather leave it a foot from a kerb just to make sure :D

Hi Phil,

Not a problem at all. If you mention your off the Z4 forum and the I had mine done with him about a month ago he will know who you mean.. I know Nick fairly well and he's a top guy :thumbsup:
