Eibach or standard springs ?

as I reported in a recent post my OSR spring is broken - car doesn't tilt to one side or drive differently - it's just that reaching in through the 108's to check I extracted a small piece of spring that had clearly broken off of one end - no rust on it just a clean break !

was going to fit a set of Eibach but I'm having second thoughts - don't want the car any lower - round here the roads are lousy with camber ,potholes etc so much so I already have to be ultra careful . are standard ones better than they used to be ? I would prefer to keep the car stock .

What do you think ?

Eibach's aint low really and you'll have no issues. I have H&R and they are low on mine. Fronts are in the arches almost so that would be a no no for you. I think Eibach do a set of standard height also.

Eibachs are lower but not ridiculously so.
It's looks sensible I.e. Doesn't look lowered.

Not had any issues with pot holes or sleeping policemen but I'm still running full oem profile 18s, so ride is pretty good even over the broken up stuff.

exactly the same as my experience
Eibach pros are lower (something like 2.5cm at the front and 1cm at the rear) than standard but, in my opinion, improve the ride without causing height-related issues - i.e. speed bumps no probs. Don't go too near the kerbs, though, and just drive round potholes. Also cheaper than the dealer will want, assuming you go for a set of four.

Yeah they are cheaper than OEM but then you have to declare as a mod so may get stung with increase in insurance premium / admin costs.

I'll be going Eibach Pro when I need to, may even change the shocks too.
