Eibach fitting

not sure why the quote didn't copy and paste all the text....done using my mobile.
however It looks to me as though your spring is upside down, the tightness of the coil gives it away as they are progressive springs. Can you see the writing "eibach" if it's upside down or you can't see the writing at all, they are the wrong way up.

Got me worried for a minute, but the springs can only go on one way with the shape D part fitting the leg . Just checked and the name and part number is the right way up. I have emailed Eibach technical to give some advice on spring fitting, but was too late on Friday for a reply. I have linked this thread to them to make some sense of my rambling on the email i sent, so they may reply to me or with any luck come on here and help to confirm what is right

Had exactly the same conversation today when swapping the front eibachs back over to the standard springs with Bilsteins.

They were previously fitted by a BMW specialist who does hundreds of them, where the spring didn’t fit in the bottom groove. We tried it, but the spring shape just didn’t seat itself right... yet in the slightly elevated position as shown in the 1st post, it seated itself perfectly.

We concluded (as also suggested above) its a mass market shock & this seating is for some other application.

PS if anyone is after some Z4M front Eibachs springs which have done less than 1k, PM me... found they are too hard for Kent’s shite roads

this is how it should look when fitted correctlyNew springs 002.jpg

This is definitely the correct way the springs fit  I remember when fitting mine (my dad really, I just watched) and he even wondered whether the spring should butt up against that notch on the spring pad. We tried for a good 15 minutes but realised that eibach springs don't fit like that. The image above shows the correct fitment.

Anyone who says otherwise is wrong.
