My Alpina is on Eiibachs with the Bilstein B12 kit and that looks right and handles lovely, whilst being a comfortable drive still

B4s are more compliant and so give a softer ride - B8s are uprated and supposedly are firmer than the M Sport originals? Ben will have more details, but i believe that the B4s are rated by Bilstein to be ok with a 40mm drop, which puts them in the range of use with eibachs.

The B6 and B8 shocks are both uprated over M Sport by circa 20% according to Bilstein. The only difference between the two is the B8 has a slightly shorter rod length for use with lowering springs, hence why they're paired with Eibachs. The B4s are comfier and are similar rating to SE spec, however as you say they are also suitable for lowering up to 40mm over SE spec, so ideal for use with Eibachs if you dont want an even firmer ride than M Sport. Its all subjective of course but for me the B4/Eibach combo is best suited to road use with the B8/Eibach (also known as the B12 Kit) a bit too hard riding and better for track use or somewhere with much better roads than the UK!
