Eibach advice please and question re rear suspension

Hi all,
I have recently noticed that my passenger side rear arch sits a fair bit higher than the driver side. I think the previous owner replaced one spring when it snapped in the past.

I've read that this is normal on numerous sites, that in Germany it's to counter the weight of the driver for LHD, but they didn't change this to the UK.

This said, I plan on putting eibachs in all round, so am I right to think that total spring replacement will give me an even ride height? Are there any pads associated with springs that I need to be aware of?

Cheers all.
Mark

Total spring replacement gives equal ride height left vs right

front vs rear looks like this (eibach pro kit on B6 front shock & OEM sachs shock rear) 2017-04-05 10.23.28.jpg

personaly don't liked the rear height so got a slightly thicker spring pad to level the rear ride height

Thanks Vester.
Were the pads used to make the gap smaller or larger at the rears?

Also, all, I'm based in Reading, can anyone assist me in where to get the pro kit fitted for a fair price?

Thanks again.

I've just put eibach pro springs on and my rear drivers side is Lower than the passenger side. I've been told the only way to level is to put a spring pad under one side or put adjustable shocks on.

Higher. Due to dutch MOT reasons i had to increase the ride height i the front too.

Currently i looks like this (almost stock ride height but with upgraded springs & shocks)

I got mine fitted in Northolt about an hour from reading. What size wheels have you got on yours?

Yes the gap on the passenger side is about 2 fingers wide and only one finger on the drivers side. It cost £100 to get the springs fitted and they advised tracking afterwards which is about £36. I've got 19 x 9.5 on the rear with 265 30 19 tyres and with no camber it rubs. I'm getting my arches rolled for £100 then having a camber done if it's still needed.

I've got et 38 fronts and et 45 rears, atomic csl's from BMAutosport who assure me that I should get no rubbing with these offsets and eibachs, as is the case with many other drivers using this setup. My tyres are 265/30/19 rears and 225/35/19 fronts. Hopefully others can confirm this.

Regards the one side lower, I'm quite happy with how it sits drivers side. Can I reduce the pad on the passenger side to even the balance/lower this corner?

I've got ET40 rear with 265/30/19 and they're absolutely fine so yours won't rub. I've got the same ET38 as you on the front with 235/35/19 and it sometimes catches lightly but it didn't when I was on 225/35/19, so again you will be fine.

I'm pretty sure this is urban myth (aka bo££ocks :D )

The springs are not handed Left/Right, the spring pads are the same L/R, besides which fuel weight and having a passenger would make the differences redundant. Some wheel alignment operators will adjust alignments slightly to take account of road camber but this wouldn't affect ride heights. BMW TIS ride height spec's make no mention of L/R height differences.

There are lots of factors that make one side/corner sit lower, including wear, springs drooping (constantly parking on a raised kerb), damaged bushes or arms, spring tails snapping off etc but taking account of tubby Germans isn't one of them

Thanks all. I thought it was crap also but that's what BMW are supppsedly feeding back, I guess to brush it off as normal.

Thanks also stuboy for confirming.
