EGR Blanking or Partial Restriction?

Hi all,

I was just wondering if any of you guys had tried either tried blanking off, or partially restricting the EGR system of your Z4, and if so, were there any benefits to performance? I know that theoretically it should give slightly better performance, but I was just wondering if the difference would actually be noticeable?

This is a mod that would obviously need reverting for an MOT due to altering emissions, but is that still the case if the EGR is only partially restricted, or does it allow just enough gas through to scrape through a test?

Thanks for any advice

Thank you for your reply.. to be honest I'm not entirely sure, I was reading about someone whom had done this on another petrol BMW, but maybe the zed doesn't even have an EGR system at all then?

egr = diesel...z4 = no diesel :thumbsup:

This is untrue.. both petrol and diesel engines can use an EGR system. You may be absolutely correct that the Zed doesn't use one (I should have done a little more research before posting the thread), but it has nothing to do with it being a petrol engine or not.
