Fair enough Mike, I’ve said my bit and you’ve said yours and I’m not the slightest bit interested in what pinky and perky have to say :)

I fail to see what I have to be jealous about
But if you actually read my reply to Jamie, it wasn’t Mike I was complaining about

Wow, you must have too much time on your hands to sit there and get upset about Mike and his services, do you not have much else going on in your life or something?

If Mikes (DLV) crossed a line wouldn't/shouldn't the Mods or Spectre have pickup on it by now?

pastry really what is your malfunction totally uncalled for maybe its you that could do with saint DLV"s help maybe he could fix your wiring cant see where this has come from also implying that mike has made up members to promote his work is not only slander its comical if members new or old wish to comment on a forum then that is there right if you really think there are wrongs going on take it up with the moderators etc. but to be honest really think you need to grow up all the best pinky  ps thanks for the work today mike you really are a saint :owned:

Is it not true then Jamie, are you not promoting your mates car?

The Forum is fast becoming the DLV show, with you and your mates taking every opportunity to promote Mike and his services, we are even getting odd newbie accounts like 'gilesimp' opening up just to promote/praise him and I'm not alone in being fed up with it!

I don't know Mike and have nothing against him personally or the services he offers or their value for money. I'm just fed up with the constant stream of how 'Saint DLV' is doing us all a favour yet lets not forget he's earning a lot of money doing it  This car was bought cheap to do up and sell a couple of weeks later so how is that not trading? He's effectively like a business now with the amount he does and it's as though we're getting forced advertising all the time!

OK I can see what you are getting at, but is that so different to "mrwilks" having moved on to Z4 number 10 - I'm sure he doesn't do it solely for the benefit of the planet either!

But AFAIK this car is the first that dlv has tidied up and offered for sale, and it looks like a good buy for someone - that isn't exactly trading is it? :headbang:

Anyway he replaced my rear brake pipes in copper for a very good price in September, and cut and coded a flip key for £80 - thanks Mike!

My thoughts exactly Mr T.

Seems its a case of 'my mates are ok - but yours are not' however I've been advised by someone with a lot more diplomacy on the matter and shan't be posting my comments anymore - sure Mike can sell himself without any help from Pinky & Perky

Thanks for dragging me into it Mr tidy when I would rather not be !
To add clarity to my own history the Zs ive bought are actually used & driven as my main weekend car & predominantly i choose not to advertise on forum to avoid issues like this thread is throwing up .
Perhaps Mike would have been wise to have not bothered with his detailed post on the purchase + repair of the listed car ? ? Simply offering it for sale with no need to explain why or where from could then have avoided a lot of the handbag slinging on this thread .
As a idle spectator who has no connection to DLV It's hard not to draw direct similarity with our friend Goldbcfc,s recent car purchase + sale antics .

I have no need to defend Andy, and to be frank it is quite a ridiculous comparison. He rarely advertises a car on here!

As I said in my main post. I have no problem with Mike and the service he offers, my beef is with the constant over promotion by Kev and Jamie (aka pinky and perky 😉) and how it is done!

I’m quit happy to let this go as well Jamie, as I said earlier, I’ve said my piece

Chaps,
I think everyone has said their bit, made their points and got things off their chest. Pastry and JamieZ4 have agreed a truce so maybe now is the time to let this go and let it return to the original "For Sale" thread. Thanks.

Andy, I actually thought people would find the thread regarding the repairs useful and informative should they want to attempt the same themselves.. My bad..

Mike

I found it interesting & most likely so did a lot of the other forum readers.
Really no reason not to post the thread & as you say useful but then listing it for sale 10days later ? Kinda hands a stick to others for beating you with :? Rightly or wrongly it's up to individuals to view the situation as they see it play out & imo but I'd have gone with one thread or the other .
Anyways enough said , the car is for sale & hopefully it will find a good home soon

A word about heated exchanges between members:

It is inevitable given the number of members and the liveliness of the forum that there will be heated exchanges from time to time. I am sure we have all seen them and possibly been involved in one or two. Often they can get quite ugly and reading them isn’t pleasant, which has prompted a clarification.

This forum is moderated not policed.

It is not the moderator’s job, nor do we want it to become our job, to get embroiled in personal squabbles. If we did we would have little time for anything else.

There are always two sides to any flare up, and although a moderator may instinctively agree with a particular point of view it would not help the ethos of the forum if we were to wade in and support one member over another. Often if left alone the conflicts soon die down with little more than bruised egos and a lingering edginess between certain members.

If however, an attack is personal and malicious or prolonged to the point were it could be classed as bullying, then it will be addressed. If you feel that is the case then certainly report the post and the mods will look into it and take the appropriate action.

Perhaps what we really need is a further clarification on what is deemed full on commercial or at the very least self publicizing leading to commercial gain and what is just a member offering a service as a bit of a sideline. I know we already having something from Spectre and having re read it this morning it's difficult to say this isn't being abused at times.

Gosh, that was exciting. Best 'For Sale' thread for a while! Did the lady have the car in the end Mr D?

SFS, her hubby can't get time off work in the week, so I've given her the option of a holding deposit, but she's not got back to me yet.
