Edge wear

Just had the E89 MOT'd and the tester showed me the inside edge of one rear tyre - It shows much more wear on the nearside, inside edge of the tyre - at only 18k all bushes are ok- Im puzzled!

Can the rear wheels be tracked ?

sounds like you need booked in for an alignment, should sort it all out

My rears always wear that way ronk. 18000 miles is a fair mileage to get out of your rears.

It looks like the heavy neg camber is having an effect - there seemed to be no sharp edges or plucking .
The tread across 80% of the tyre is 4mm while that band is looking shabby !

It's similar for my E86. When I hit 2-3 mm across the rear tyres the inner edges were well worn, but no cord showing.
I believe it's normal with standard negative camber settings. I'm not sure if the rear of the E89 is set up the same as the E86 but it would seem logical to have similar camber.

I still had full wear from the tyres, and an MOT place wouldn't fail the tyre on excessive wear due to the 2/3 of the tyre wear rule, as long as the worn edges are not showing cord or excessive damage.
