Hi finally got all of the troubles sorted out on my z4
While going through it learned alot Like there isnt any mechanical difference between a 3.0 i and a 3.0 si
same injectors throttle body etc
So now that it is done i have been unable to find someone dealer or otherwise that can reflash my ecu with the si program
If anyone knows of a place please let me know Thanks RIch
 
Are we talking N52 3.0i to 3.0si here? (We never got the N52 3.0i in the UK)

The si gets its extra power from different cams in addition to the remapped ECU.

If you have an M54 then there is quite a lot mechanically different - valvetronic, magnesium block....
 
Dont recall there being a 3.0i N%2 engine, the 3.0si being 258bhp and the 2.5si being 218bhp no point having something in the middle.

As said though if you are talking pre facelift engines are completely different.
 
I think you'd be better getting a proper remapped ecu rather than just sticking the si map on.
 
To get the dealer to reflash your ECU with a non-stock program will take a lot of sweet talking, money and making sure that they know you understand that THEY are not responsible... that is if you can get them to do it at all.

Part of the problem with BMW now, is that BMW corporate’s take on this is that ALL repair/design information on their cars is Proprietary and not to be shared. If the dealer’s tech cannot figure out what is wrong within the first 30 minutes or so, they have to call Munich, explain everything, and then BMW Munich will tell the tech what to replace. Not why, or anything.

So it may be difficult to get this performed by the Dealer.
 
I did find a guy in Ohio at koala motosports that said if the part numbers of the Ecu are the same he can get it done he said he will get back to me on Monday but doesn't think it should be a problem
