This eco-friendly crap is just a huge business opportunity for a lot of people. They are using theories and assumptions to deprive us of our rights and of our money.
If the Mayor of London gets what he wants, from February next year, for me to just move my car out of my house during the week I will pay £25. That's what they are going to charge for the "Congestion Charge" for cars emiting more than 225g/km of CO2. And the residents discount of 90% that we have today will not be available for people with these cars either.
They also want to charge us per mile we drive on public roads, with different prices for different times of the day or how busy the road is, for that they will require us to install a GPS tracking device in all our cars and will know when and where we're going every time.
They want to charge us for the amount of rubbish we throw away, other than reducing the number of times they collect rubbish in many areas.
That not to mention all the companies that are dubbing themselves as eco-friendly to sell us products and other stuff.
I do appreciate BMW's efforts to reduce emissions from their cars, not because they supposedly save the planet, but because it will allow me to still own, run and enjoy exciting cars. It will probably be illegal to buy a car like my Z in a few years.
Rant over... :x
