You stated the comment was pointless and inferred that I did not 'qualify' - whatever that means.

Perhaps if you had been less 'arsey' in your own approach then I may have been more inclined to provide a full explanation as to why I think they are junk.

To 'qualify' in the context I was using it is to 'clarify claims to truth and make them more factually accurate'. A better word to use perhaps is substantiate. I don't see how asking you to provide more information about why you thought they were junk is arsey.

I know others have had issues, and my mate had a set of Redstuff that came away from the backing plates, but I must be the only person not to have had issues with EBC Yellowstuff & Bluestuff.

Had them on a heavy e34 M5s & Z4MC, and never had issues stopping from cold, and this was on cars that were used all times of the year, and multiple track days and ring trips.

However, I have now gone over to Pagid RS29/RSL29 in the Porsche Brembo calipers fitted to mine as they give better pedal feel than the EBCs - although they are 3x the price.

Whatever you do - unless you are a serious racer - do not put Orangestuff on a road-biased car...as they need LOTS of heat to work :|

I fitted Zimmerman drilled discs front, solid rears and Textar Ceramic ( epads ) pads all round. All seem fine, just road use not tracked and if the OP hasn't gone away in disgust the fronts look good too.

Do your Textar Ceramic ePads produce less brake dust on the rims?

They seem to, please bear in mind that they have only been on for a few weeks but I would say yes. Unfortunately I also got some wheel wax at the same time and that should have a bearing on it too.

I've used ATE Ceramic on my focus st. I can feel more bit and there's a lot less dust. Haven't tried them on the z4 yet but they are available for it.

I recently got some Ferodo DS Performance pads for the front of my car. Soon I will be needing pads for the rears, I couldn't find suitable DS Performance pads for the rear of my E89 so I contacted Ferodo and they informed me that they did not do a performance version for the rear. He said the standard ones they do called Eco Friction are pretty good but in all honesty he recommended me to stick with OE BMW, he said they just that bit better and he also went onto say that OE BMW are probably better then anything EBC puts out. I know he was referring to the pads but the same logic can be applied to discs? The only other brand he recommended was Pagid.

Seems like this thread went off on a brake related tangent. To answer the op, ebc discs will be absolutely fine for your zed, they are manufactured in the UK or USA, so you can be assured that the grey iron Composition, heat treatment and CNC machining will be of a high standard. Any tales of warping are rubbish, this is purely down to improper fitment. Poor performance is not due to the disc but pad material or improper bedding in procedure.....after fitting make sure you use the brakes really hard in succession, 5 or 6 times and then drive at moderate speed for cooling.
Go for the ebc's I say and have that cool look!

The EBC bedding-in guide for road pads/discs does NOT advocate an immediate high temperature routine. Some makers do for their pads, particularly race/track parts, but not EBC road gear by the looks of it.

Extra for anti corrosion painted but Hammerite smooth silver seems to work fine - unlkess you are very heavy on your brakes and cook them regularly.
Mine have been fitted for a year with Mintex pads,- not run into anything yet! Now more like 2 years

I've found that bedding in instructions vary according to the manufacturers and even different pad formulations, I was just posting factual information from EBC for their road pads/discs.

Isn't green or yellow more comparable for road I.e. better cold bite whilst still giving less dust and reducing fade. Red is more of a track only compound?

Green and red are for the road whereas yellow is for occasional track use.

Wow this discussion kept going didn't it!

The short of it seems to be that whatever discs you get, will probably be fine!

I'm likely selling the car very soon... So probably won't bother considering the current stuff is in very good shape.

They seem to, please bear in mind that they have only been on for a few weeks but I would say yes. Unfortunately I also got some wheel wax at the same time and that should have a bearing on it too.

Update on this:- now done a couple of thousand miles and yes, considerally less dust than previous ( OE ) pads, so a win and more importantly, they stop well and no noise
