Have a look at the homepage of the Nagengast company in Poland and watch their refurbish videos.

Look like refurbished OE parts…half the price of OE parts..

Anybody used the Ebay units yet? I may try them and then have my originals refurbed by Nagengast. Correct if I am wrong, but the price on the site includes the 200 euro refunded back to you after you return the old one, correct? So net price is 128 euro each plus shipping?

If you are happy with the performance / handling / ride comfort of the standard adaptive suspension then go for it…

If your car is a keeper then having a refurbished set is no bad idea as the life expectancy of the adaptive damping system seems rather short..

You’ll have a fair chunk of VAT and import duty to pay as well, add around 25% to the list price (plus shipping).

Having switched to and being extremely happy with KW, I’ll never go back to OE, not even if free. But it all depends on usage, road conditions, and driving style.

That ebay deal looks pretty good. There is a german label on them, but they are shipping from china. Tells me they are probably OEM. Probably the company that's make the BMW shocks in China, keeps making them under the table for their own sales..

I did something similar with someone based in Nottingham, significantly cheaper. The problem was that the Nagengast place was very expensive when shipping and tax was taken into account. Post below:

My rear shocks seems to be fine,is other owners finding the fronts seem to need replacing quicker?

Mine at 50k were leaking from the front but all four were shot….rear springs were very tired too…

Changed mine at 105k and they had zero damping left - they’d been changed at least once before as well.

Changed mine around 76-78k as one front had a weep, did all 4 and eibach springs, big improvement.. Main dealer wanted to just change the one weeping unit… complete bell ends. So I sourced a set and got an independent to fit them.

The front struts are installed with new Lesjofors springs front and rear. I am waiting for my wheels to come back from powdercoating, then I can take it for a ride-I will get back to you guys, hopefully we will have a lower priced alternative to the oem dampers..

Well,I got the car on the road. All I can say is it drives alot better than before-but I was driving on shot front shocks. I do notice a difference when going into sport+,albeit not as much as I would have expected. I will have to drive it a bit more to get a better feel for the new struts. I am happy so far.

Hello, how is your experience with ebay adaptive shocks? I'm about to buy them and trying ti get opinion from person actually use them? Thanks in advace.
