Just bought a couple of alloys for the wifes car via an eBay auction.

Price £14.50, but noticed that although it's collection only the seller is charging £10 for postage and packing.

Now at £24.50 they are still cheap but is the seller breaking rules here just to inflate his final price?

The ad was obviously like it and he hasn't altered it but still doesn't sit right with me, just didn't think about it at the time as I knew I would collect. :x

If there's two options for delivery or collect doesn't it adjust the final price at payment stage? I think you can click that you're collecting but I could be wrong.

He can't charge postage if you're collecting. The Cheek!
 
Steve, that's ridiculous. I'd be hacked off. What a waste of your time as a seller. :poke:

Let us know what happens. Have you asked the seller?

But this is like where sellers used to add 3% to cover paypal which isn't allowed, perhaps I should have checked but in the main listing carriage cost wasn't displayed as it was collection only, yet when you go through to Paypal it adds it on.
 
Definately seems wrong to me, how can he charge P&P when you are collecting them.
Typical ebay non commital answers though.
 
Have you actually communicated with the seller yet? You could be getting yourself all worked up over nothing. There may be a simple explanation and the seller may have no intention of charging you a delivery fee despite the invoice discrepancy.

Do you have a link or an item number for the listing so people who are familiar with e bay can take a look and judge correctly for themselves how the listing terms were stated?
 
Just ignore the P&P of £10 if you are collecting & don't worry about it.

Sellers can't give negative feedback anymore, only buyers... well they couldn't last year so worst that will happen is u will have a few choice words give him negative feedback... of AVOID, RIGHT DELL BOY MUPPET INFLATED P&P SWINDLER!!!!!
 
I have had this is the past, and ebay were as useless to me as they were to you.

Its not right, but you got a bargain still.... Otherwise just email them saying you have changed your mind.... I have had buyers do this to me in the past.

I recently sold an item on ebay that was collection only - & could not find any way of having a zero cost for postage.

It might just be an error, have they invoiced you?

If they insist that the £10 collection charge is to cover their "costs" of staying-in for you to collect - are you prepared to walk away & leave it?
 
I just sold an item collection only and added 0 for postage cost. Leaving blank is not possible, but putting in 0 is.
