Ebay Listing

Hi all,

I'm looking to purchase a Sony Walkman NWZ-ZX1 which are expensive new so had a browse on ebay and there is a used one up for sale. Its listed as used but the seller says its as brand new, 2 weeks old and hardly used. Messaged the seller and asked if they had a receipt for which they replied they didn't receive a receipt when they bought it :? I've messaged back to say surely you would receive a receipt on a new item costing over 500 quid. The seller seems legit enough as they have their own ebay shop selling cycle parts. Just seems odd they don't have a receipt or are they trying to give the impression the item is newer than it really is. The item is up for 350 so if nearly new and unused is tempting but lack of any receipt if off putting. If I bought it and realise its not as listed, i.e. few weeks old although unsure how I could prove can I pursue a refund? Obviously a receipt will be dated.

I was tempted by these but saw a piece they did recently on the gadget show comparing flac files against mp3 at 320kbps and no one could tell the difference! Honestly just think it's a gimmick wouldn't waste your money

A friend has got one which has kind of converted me. When I tried it playing high res files with a good set of headphones, I've just bought some Bowers and Wilkins phones and its miles ahead of anything you would play on your phone or Apple Ipod touch etc. Just my experience of trying one. There are mixed reviews but the concensus is its the best of its type.

If you pay with paypal and the item is not as listed, you will get your money back. less return postage of course. I personally have never had to pay import tax from Hong Kong, email them and ask. hope this helps.
 
You could ask the seller who they bought it from and then contact them directly. Earlier this year I bought a Jura coffee machine on eBay which was said to be under guarantee, but the seller didn't have a receipt - got the serial number and contacted Whitards in London (where it was bought from) and managed to establish the warranty and register it with Jura.

Cheers for that, I'm just a little cautious as I keep receipts especially if something cost upward of 500 quid so for something professed to be 2 weeks old a bit odd. Also I'm not to know if the item is stolen etc.

Cheers, I've had a few things for the Z3 from China and not paid duty but from USA always get stung, will check it out.
