Ebay Exhaust!

Thanks everyone for all the information, I’m about to take the leap with one to replace the straight pipe conversion the previous owner did on my 3.0si (E85, N52). I can’t imagine it can be any noisier or drone more than the current setup.

I had the m54 version and found it a bit too much but I'd also tries the back box delete at one point and it's no where near as loud as that. That made my ears bleed so you probably be fine. The n52 version seems to have a bigger rear silencer than the m54 version so hopefully it's a bit quieter and what your aiming for

Tempted to go for this as an interim before a quad conversion in the distant future. Shame the price has increased a bit but still so much cheaper than anything else on the market!

I’m taking a slightly different route now, I’ve booked in to get a Longlife exhaust fitted from R-Tec Auto in St Albans. It’s a bit more expensive than the eBay option (at £490) but at least I don’t have to get my hands dirty (more worried about doing the work outdoors on a wet floor #softy!)

I’ve opted for the mid-resonator to be removed and the back box included, I was told that this will make it ‘fruitier’ than standard but nothing like the straight pipe currently on it.

I’ll try to get some photos and recordings before and after for anyone else thinking of this exhaust option and how it compares to the backbox delete.

When does yours arrive? I’ve just received a notification saying mine should be delivered by the end of the week.

I noticed the M54 version has a 2.25” bore but the N52 is labelled ‘race’ and has a 3” bore

I'd love to hear how you get on, I was on the fence with this exhaust from Gravity but ended up opting for an exhaust from R-Tec, which is a bit more expensive but they'll do all the fitting.

I got a couple of recordings of the current backbox delete audio (outside and inside) and must admit it sounds pretty tasty, I'm struggling to see how I can upload MP4 files (do I need to change the format to something else for it to post?). The after clips (with the new exhaust) will follow in a couple of weeks time.

No vid, it was such a bad fit I ended up sending it back and taking them to court to get my fitting fees back

Mostly because I can have it made to sound how I want it. If it's too loud it can be made quieter and vice versa.

I've been looking at this exhaust on eBay but I've seen there is a 2.5" or a 3" I have a 2003 Z4 2.5i which one will fit? Cheers
