Only seen it as a factory fit on one car, and that was an e34 M5 with a petrol (dark bluey-green) interior. The downside is the dash leather shrinks in the sun and starts to come away from the adhesive/substrate, and is a pain to fix. It also had a leather-covered parcel shelf.
Can't find a photo of the e34 dash, so here's an e28 M5 leather dash instead.
