There are loads of threads on this and how amazingly complicated it is to get it working! Most of them by me lol

I bought one and it connects to the car with no problems. My cable was faulty but I repaired it myself. Hopefully my experience was a one off

You do need to install the software that comes with it carefully and exactly according to the instructions.

There is a BMW coders forum that has a lot of info on it

I've set mine to beep when opened and locked but can only seem to get the lights to flash!

Lane change indicator only works on facelift cars.
Mine's pre-facelift and I have lane change indication, courtesy of the intravee, so should be possible?

on SSS v32 it is not listed as an option on pre-facelift z4's

You're not wrong, in Markeg's and my cars, the Intravee is dealing with it. That suggests it is possible by coding, but so far everyone has found it only for facelift cars.

My cable arrived Friday and I followed the instructions to the letter but nothing ran. After a day or so of fiddling, internet browsing and software downloads I've now got it working. In brief it's a nightmare getting this working with Windows 7 x64.

But it does work and I've now got 3 flashes for lange change, 24hr clock & visual identification on locking and unlocking :)

Sounds good, maybe you should write a brief, concise guide on here to help those that are still struggling? :D

Yes bought one but never got it to work. Seller was helpful though but I gave up on it. I bought it to turn off the dreaded airbag warning/passenger airbag disabled lights - still on after a year but car passed inspection (I'm in USA) so they will probably stay on until the car is scrapped ! No instructions with the kit so if anybody can produce a simple guide to getting the damn thing working then a lot of us would be very grateful.

How did u get it to work with windows 7 x64? cant get my to work!

I got the cable from bmcables on ebay. I actually had no luck with windows 7 32bit or windows xp 32 bit. I tried 3 fresh installs of windows and installed the painfully slow install on each (takes a few hours).

Couldn't get anything to work. No anti virus, no firewall, played about with settings and nothing. I have worked in IT for 14 years and I have up. Until I saw a recent thread on here about using 64 bit windows 7.

I installed 64 bit win7, again as a fresh install, then ran through the bmcables install DVDs again and hey presto every program works. They all talked to the car fine, I now just need to learn how to use them properly.

I've had all the cables and software for 2 years and had it working once in that time, i found all the disks and decided to install them all. So far I've done ok! Just need to figure out how to use it all correctly

My problem is windows 8, so I'm looking into a way to boot up using a flash drive with XP loaded on it.

ha ha, same as me! however it does beep if it thinks something is open and not able to lock properly which is handy.

Can anyone tell me if they've got this to work on a 2008 E85. The Ebay ad seems to suggest only for cars upto 2007. Would appreciate your experiences.

well im still having problems getting SSS to work! first ive had the problem the resolution and then we i do get past that it says it can't communicate!

I got the BMcables package and it installed fine with all programs talking to the car OK, but despite being fairly competent with tech I've not got very far with the coding, plug-and-play it aint :(
