Easy way to run cable from centre cuboard to boot?

I have just installed my Dice iPod interface. All connected in the boot to the existing CD changer cables, was pretty straight forward.

The hard part seems to be feeding the cable from the centre cuboard into the boot. I can't see any way of doing it, there's no gaps or removable units to poke the cable through.

Can somebody help me? It's driving me crazy :headbang: I'm so close to having a complete up and runnning interface

There is - but you either need to make a hole in the carpet or work from the other side.

Which bit of carpet does the hole need making in? Also in regard to your photo, how did you manage to pull out the plastic blanking/cubby hole units?

Have a look at the satnav retrofit thread. I think I posted a number of pictures that describes the removal of the centre console part. To just remove the cubby, you need to remove the lid of the console, screw on the side, screws at the top and you can hinge it from the bottom enough to get the boxes out.

I used that to fit my Intravee in the centre.

If you have no CD changer then its much easier then it looks.

I pulled up the back of the boot carpet, in the middle of the firewall there is a gap - i put a newspaper there, and drilled a hole into the back of the lower plastic box with it in place... removed the paper and fileings and then fed my wires through (the ipod lead for my intravee)

Took 10 mins!

Cheers all. I think I'll go down the drilling route, don't fancy having to remove lots of bits. Now to locate a drill with a large drill bit...

I wanted perfection and wanted to drill from the inside out, not outside in :) Takes 15 minutes to take enough out to get to the wiring and the box...
