Easy way of polishing your pipes!

Partly due to the miles of muddy single track to get to my house I don't tend to be too precious about polishing every part of my M every weekend but with such nice quad pipes it's a shame to see them sooty inside. I've polished the inside edges by hand before and whilst therapeutic it does take a while. Last week I ordered a 60mm Dome cotton polishing mop that has a 10mm shank to fit my cordless drill, added some metal polish and gave it a go. 10 seconds in one direction, 10 seconds in reverse at a medium speed and the result is superb and just so easy, if you aren't already using this method I recommend it. Will post piccies up later.

The only trouble with these are that they tend to clog up quickly and are then not reusable once they get to a certain "used" state...

Washable and thus reusable, much like foam polishing pads for rotary or orbital machines.

IIRC, PVR made up a couple of discs of plywood slightly smaller than the pipe diameter, sandwiched some 0000 wire wool between them (so it poked out around the edges), bolted them together with a long bolt and used an electric drill to spin the disc - seemed to get the insides of his pipes clean and shiny with minimum effort and the wire wool was dirt cheap and easy to replace

He gave me one, TBH I didn't find it great.

I have the same as the OP and it makes life a doddle. I just added a splash of water to it after the first use which seemed to rejuvenate it.

Fair enough - the Alpina pipes are much easier as they're black inside - and, before you say anything, that's how they're supposed to be...

That's because Alpina's kick out so much site there were embarrassed so made them black from the factory.

Hahahahaha at fisticuffs

I use autosol with cutting paste
Buff ass off them then ceramic sealant

Then just needs baby wipe after use and a buff
