Easy Newbie Questions

Hi Chaps,

New Z4 owner this weekend and have a lot of questions but a few quickies for starters...

1/ Is ipod connector in glovebox standard?
2/ I dont have cup holders, were these an option? (Not important but I thought I would ask)
3/ Corrosion on hub of brake discs, any easy fix? Is this common?
4/ Can anyone recommend a good place for servicing in the Wimbledon/Sutton area?

Its a 2006 3.0Si.

Re rust - never had that on mine but i keep them painted may be you clean them up and spray them.

Cup holders :o its a 2 seater not a people carrier :D
 
Hi and welcome, ipod connector in glovebox is not standard, probably BMW option or Dension Icelink Plus. If it's just a 3.5mm plus it will be just AUX in.

Cup holders easy retrofit, but never use mine anyway, dont think much would stay in them the way I drive. :D
 
Yes I think the car has been in the elements for a bit, I may have to try and rub them down.

I clearly dont have cup holders.......(but wont dwell on it :roll:)

Welcome to the forum

The white BMW ipod lead in the glovebox is an optional extra. The cup-holders were part of the comfort package, again an optional extra.

Rust on the discs is a common issue after washing but this rubs off after a couple of miles. Never had a roblem with rust on the hubs but if it is a problem for you then a quick and easy paint job could be in order.

Oh, and I can't believe I get to say this but you need to get your csamera out and show us your new pride and joy, after all......

Top hat on the discs do corrode as does almost any car, but they can easily be painted if they are not already worn out.

Cupholders are a retrofit kit that needs only a couple of screws. Do their job just fine and make a lot of use of mine. Easy to hit getting in and out so care needed.

No idea on service in your area and ipod has been covered.

i have cup holders in my car but never use them as nobody is allowed to eat, drink, have dirty shoes or breath in my car :rofl: :smart:
