Did you send me the door ones too? I think you might have done but I dove straight into this one I didn't check the rest! If so I'll get one of them done up and I'll post a photo over the weekend.

You won't have one of these ones fall out, or at least in my case it's on there pretty tight.

Do they simply slot into the lock, or did you need to dab a bit of glue/silicone on them?

If they just slot in, then even better 8)

Just slot in, it didn't need anything else. It needs a fair bit of force to pull it back off again so I'd say it's pretty safe

Yes mate I did include a load of door lock ones for you too :)

Yes, by design the fit is bloody tight - you'll also have to take into account tolerances of 3D Printing. They fit perfectly in mine as that's what I measured on. By design it is a tight fit, but some may find they have to file the notch that goes into the lock down a fraction if it won't go in. When I tested on mine, it was stiff for sure, I had to push quite a bit to get it on first time round. After that I could get it one and off easy enough but it's still held tightly.

Also worth noting, I send 4 of each lock cover (Boot & Door) in each set to allow for breakage / paint experimentation / loss etc

Assuming the size is the same then yes. I will get a picture of the plastic part fitted in door lock tomorrow for you. (Note: mine are unpainted straight off the print bed so won't look as matched as thanatu55's but it will show the fit :) )

If your locks are a different size, you could always discuss some measurements with me via PM and can get a set out to test

If everyone is happy, I'm going to round it to ยฃ10 for a set printed in PLA. (PLA will be a random colour, since they will ideally need a layer of heavy primer to get rid of the print layer lines anyways, and then painted, colour of the material is irrelevant)

That covers the costs of printing them and includes p&p recorded.

There's 8 in total. 4 x Boot Lock Covers, 4 x Door Lock Covers

For What It's Worth, I'm not making profit, and don't intend to, I'm perfectly happy being able to offer something to the members of this forum

The boot lock is 36mm in diameter, the door lock is 20mm in diameter.

All PM's currently replied to :) Thanks everyone for their interest - and Thanks of course to thanatu55 for putting the idea to me and being the test pilot :)

Looking forward to receiving these & getting them painted up :). Any recommendations for a suitable spray primer for PLA?

I just used Halfords brand primer when Iโ€™ve sprayed PLA car parts before. You can get some that are heavy or high build which I imagine would make it easier to get rid of the layer lines. Iโ€™m sure thanatu55 will pitch in with what he did soon enough as his looks great ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

Standard surface primer is fine. I've done one of the door ones now but it's chucking it down atm so can't get a photo up yet.

Ooh nice, I look forward to the photo once itโ€™s stopped raining :)
