Early Morning Clean & Drive

Up with the lark today so thought as it was sunny I'd give the car a quick once over. I left the drying towel upstairs so thought I'd see if you can air dry a car. Evidently you can't. (Can you polish out water marks or do you have to clean it all over again?)

Anyway the drive was great and found some lovely driving roads around Windlesham, Longcross, Sunningdale, Chobham for anyone that knows the area, this would be an excellent place for a Sunday morning get together :driving:

Saw a Koenigsegg CCX being unloaded at Sunningdale motors too which was nice :thumbsup:

You can polish the car to get rid of watermarks... But quick detailer will work almost as well and take a fraction of the time :wink:

Yes to polishing out the water marks but some detailer (as Bing said) will easily get rid of them without so much effort.

Sounds like you had a good drive. Those places arent a million miles away from me so I'd be up for a pootle about there....
 
DI vessel job, no towels required (and I am not talking about that fateful "stick" you tried a while back ...)

Never wash the car in direct sunlight, the little beads of water dry out to quick and leave water marks or worse still can scold the paint.
 
Tbf it's pretty hard not to clean a car in direct sunlight if you don't have a car port or a shaded area next to the house. I either keep damping the while car as I wash, or most lately I've been washing a section - like the bonnet and wings - and drying as I go. The only other option is using collected rain water or a DI vessel to purify the water like PVR has... But I haven't been able to spend the £110 that requires yet :(

Link here - the kit with 11 litre vessel filled with resin.

You wash the car as normal, then final rinse with this attached to your hose. Completely purifies the water so you can let it dry and there will be no water spots.

PVR can tell you details & how long the sand lasts, but should be 6-12 months depending on how often you wash the car.
 
Slightly OT, but if anyone's up for a Sunday morning blast one weekend in I'd definitely be game :)
The car looks lovely; annoyingly every time I see an MCoupe, it makes me want to start fannying about with M bumpers and bonnets etc.... :/
 
Just don't drive behind flimper, just in case the satnav falls from the windscreen again (and yes flimper, we did meet going opposite directions when I went TO the pub for the meeting point and you went the opposite direction being lost :P )
 
Went out with the quick detailer this morning to get rid of the water marks and there is a layer of dust on the car already :evil: I so envy people with garages :headbang:
 
My car gets dusty even in the garage, don't sweat it - it'll get dusty as soon as you drive it anyway :driving:

Of course perhaps I should clean the garage... But after cleaning the car I don't have too much time left to do that :lol:
