E89 z4 35is (first drive at last!)

One thing:

Quote:
"The sDrive35iS sits 10mm lower than other Z4 models, and gets beefed-up anti-roll bars with firmer springs and noticeably stiffer electronically controlled dampers. On smooth German roads the ride quality was very impressive, given that it uses run-flat tyres – firm but never harsh."

I think they will find that the 35is just has the M dynamic suspension as standard instead of an option (like on mine) rather than bespoke suspension! :?

The Z4M should still be able to have it's measure (just). 4.8 secs 0-62 seems very ambitious or is it because of the DC gearbox?

Bloody expensive!! :o

Mind you the shiny M badge will attract the "more money than sense" brigade, a bit like the first one when new! :P :poke:

Looks like it is after the Audi TTRS...

Audi £43k/335hp/332 torque
BMW £43k/335hp/334 torque

I prefer the Audi if I'm honest (75kg lighter as well)

Doubt it! Wouldn't be much in it between the standard 35i and the M to be honest!

I'd be surprised if I could get a single figures 0-60 time with that bloody clutch delay valve!! :D

You could be right as it even has the silly silver mirrors! Not a fan of those on the Z4! :?

I know someone who has the Aud TTS! Very nice car, but a bit "bland" for me!

True!

I think your right on that 7 speed auto box giving close to that 4.8 to 62 though. Wonder why they are not doing the 35is in a manual? :?

Target market.

My 740 was only available in an auto box as well, they obviously don't think it is worth making any other box for that type of car. It sort of makes sense if the 35is is only available as an auto box to make the new M only available again as a true manual box for the enthousiast.

Autocar got the 35i in at 5.1 secs for the DCT so it should be possible.
