E89 Z4 23i M Sport - Withdrawn...

Good afternoon all

This is kind of a regretful sale for me after the experience I have had with the garage I brought it from.

Bmw Z4 23i M Sport, 66,000 miles auto - deep sea blue 1 key, still 6 months MOT, The garage I brought it from basically done me over on it. I have lost sleep on this.

In the 6 months of ownership I've only done a 1000 miles in it.

It has had all the alloy wheels refurbished, rocker cover was changed. Coolant pipe was replaced. It has had a new roof motor put in.

But.. there is hydraulic fluid leak in the roof mechanism - personally I don't know how big a job it is. I keep hearing different stories on this. Can suit someone that can do this kind of work.

If you are interested please drop me a line.

I'm taking a massive hit on the price 6 months ago I paid £11,250 I'm asking £9500.

Car is currently SORN. Car is located in High Wycombe Buckinghamshire. J4 M40

Hi Shane.
Sorry to hear about the hassle you had with the garage you bought this Z4 from.
I am interested but would need an aa inspection and any offer would be subject to what was said.
Does the car have FSH? And if so by BMW specialist garage(s)?
How many previous owners?
What are the tyres and brake pads like please?
Thanks.
David.

Hiya.
Just wondering if you’ve withdrawn this from sale?
Or been out of touch for a few days and not seen my initial reply…
David.

It's sad when dealers and garages rip people off, it spoils it for the whole industry. Given that there are issues with this one it's still a bit expensive. At the time of writing this there's a few on Autotrader slightly less miles at the same age, all from dealers offering warranty's (one AA covered). That doesn't mean that yours isn't worth the £9500 but it will be harder to sell. "Why would I buy it when I can spend a little extra and get one that doesn't need any time and money spent on it" etc. etc.

I'd suggest getting it fixed, prepping it for sale properly and then asking around what you paid for it. Several people on here happy to help including me.

For a car with relatively very low mileage for its age, the MOT history is horrendous!

Indeed, when I looked at it I initially thought front end impact with knock on effects. Thinking about it, more likely a previous owner who didn't care and living near some speed bumps. Lets not get into E85 vs E89 Build quality - LOL. It wouldn't put me off though, I'd just want to know that it had been fixed properly.

Thank you all for the intrest, I am going to see what happens with the garage I brought it from who are not the best.

Keep us posted, help is normally at hand :-)

Hi Shane,
Sorry to hear this. I did speak to my friend regarding the hydraulic issues. He is reluctant to work on a car as it's not something he is used to. Sorry I couldn't help.
I would name and shame the garage everywhere you can including social media if they won't sort your car once and for all.

Maybe a bit of a break through coming - I hope

Thank you for all the help. Might be slowly getting somewhere, just keep your fingers crossed 🤞

If this gets sorted, there will be no naming and shaming the garage. It will be move on, and look forward to the summer 8)
