PS - Thinking Renault Liquid Yellow ?

Seems to be the kiss of death when it comes to selling time, people assume rightly or wrongly that it’s hiding a can of worms underneath :?

Also if it’s had any bodywork repairs there is a chance removing the wrap will pull the paint off.

What's a 'san jose quote'?

Is it like a 'Liverpool kiss'?

He lives in the US, San Jose is Silicon Valley, home of most the big tech firms inc Adobe, Twitter, Facebook etc .... so he has local to him quotes ... the place is a bit like Reading but with loads more money sloshing about ....

To the others, paint is all original and in good order, also I plan on keeping the car 3 to 4 years and will unwrap Pre sale.

I had my roof and mirror caps done as BMW had stopped doing the black roof as an option when i purchased. From memory that was under £350 for the lot. Roof is a bugger to wrap apparently and I had to have it redone as it didn't stick properly around the rear window. I've noticed that my mirror caps have a few stone chips not (18months later) which shows the body colour through. Don't think I'd want the whole body doing especially of going for a drastic colour change because of this.

I had my entire Z4 wrapped 3M Fiery Orange including sills for £1400 iirc. The wrap was good quality and durable, although extra care has to be taken not too leave it out exposed to the elements, and hand washing with no pressure washers unless done so at an exact angle / pressure else the wrap will peel off.

Would be interested to hear costs. How durable are they?
£1400 for full wrap including sills on a Z4 with 3M

Yes, most buyers will not buy a wrapped car, me included even though I had mine wrapped.

Yes this can happen too.

Cheers for all the input guys especially Sunnydays .....

the 'out in the elements' bit worries me as the car lives outside ...... hmmm

Ceramic coat the wrap, it’ll be fine.

£1400 inc door sills is cheap. I was quoted £1500 as a friends and family discount by my cousins boss at Venom Wraps.

I’d love to go Nardo Grey but I don’t think it would suit the interior in mine.

Also, for the best results the paint needs to be perfect. No stone chips etc. It won’t hide anything, it’ll look worse! Often people just get it sanded down and prime red then wrapped. Hence why buying a wrapped car is risky.

Id love to see an e89 in nardo grey, a wrap has always been on my mind. Its something id get done nardo grey or frozen matte grey has always been a eye glow. If you get it done would love to see the outcome, id even drive to where ever just to see the results !!!!

I've recently bought a wrapped z4 (E85) something I always thought I wouldn't do either, I got really detailed pics of the car pre/during and post wrap so pretty confident in the bodywork underneath.

Mine was done in 3M around 4-5 years ago and although initially I wanted to remove it the more I see it the more I want to keep it on, 3M advise 5-7 years before removing and there is only a few places on mine that the wrap is starting to come away.

The main issue comes from if you have re-painted parts of the car or big stone chips to primer before the wrap is applied, a local place I took mine to says as long as enough heat is used along with patience it will come off pretty easily.

I'm looking for Red satin wrapping. I got several local san jose quotes. average were $3k+

Check out premium auto styling in socal, they are highly recommended. Obviously if you wanted a full door jam job to hide all existing colour then it would cost more.
