I have a Wind Deflector complete set for the E89, in excellent condition. The set consists of:

1 x BMW OEM main wind deflector (including original storage bag) - £150 (£250+ at BMW)
1 x BMW OEM set of 2 brackets with screws (need to fit the main wind deflector) £5
2 x BMW OEM wind deflectors (for the hoops) £80 x2 = £160 (£110+ each! at BMW, very hard to find 2nd hand)
2 x BMW OEM rool over hoops (with 2 holes to fit the mounting brackets for the main wind deflector, also very hard to find 2nd hand) - £50 x 2 = £100 (£60+ at BMW)

Total - £415 ono

I will also include a printout of the fitting instructions.

Note: if you were to buy everything brand new from BMW, it would be well over £500+

Not trying to be harsh, but £415 is getting into retail money for used parts. Also, just for anyone considering it, the existing roll over hoop covers can be drilled to accept the brackets, so you don’t actually need to buy the replacement covers.

Thank you for the input. I was just trying to guess what could I sell it for, to be honest, as I had no idea what to sell all this stuff for.
Main wind deflector: the only one I could find with the original bag and in pristine condition, like mine, was £150 on eBay, I used the same price (it's £250 approx. new from BMW).
The wind deflectors for the hoops are virtually impossible to get 2nd hand (even less in a "like new" condition like mine). I bought them from BMW for £110+ each, if my memory serves me right. It's a discount of £30 a piece, £60 in total, for something that it's been in my car less than a year (it's not a 17 year old part).
Regarding the hoops, same thing. I know that you can drill the holes, but many people out there don't have a drill or won't want to DIY. These hoops are for them (I bought them for well over £60 from BMW brand new, if I remember correctly). I have listed the individual prices so that people can buy what they need. I just put the total sum at the end, just in case someone wants to buy the whole lot (which I would, for example).

The only 2 items where I could find a product with all of the above combined into a package are this:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/174802389019?fits=Car+Make:BMW|Plat_Gen:E89&_skw=bmw+e89+wind+deflector&itmmeta=01M06JYWF4Q41T62WNP7PRH5Q2&hash=item28b308c81b:g:RuQAAOSwbrlk42zf&itmprp=enc:AQALAAAA8GfYFPkwiKCW4ZNSs2u11xC812NH0gETHwLe7+YIRn3a9BxN6Coz6ivFSN50Db3jJlgVrJcFgAcbYbeVXiZFntYLwYWYyN6j2aLYuHEOKoxAhH8Y9kpqHDQpCq5byTQsthAnwIFvgtmCbgPZDBoqOmG4n+SQEYpWzIVq7BFWSJq9Oav+1DsGLzJPGWSCcWStRzFvm45Iz5EtsF0CQOBUsneoEjbesxJyN/x9uJt0M/gnNe3TMdI5jt2mWWlRfy14iX9MVnty2LbyzbU3C3CKmqwhNsAgGqWPadnfeXVIlu+55s5Q+bkd95WmiKuTIJ7H1w==|tkp:BFBM9Mf70oFo

This is from an official BMW shop on eBay, selling genuine parts. The whole lot is £527.90. At the moment there's a discount code that can bring it to £475.11. That is still £60 more than what I asked for. Please also note that I included a ONO (ie: I'm open to offers).
They sell:
-Main wind deflector: £263.95
-Hoop deflectors: £131.98 each

OR this, selling for £468.43 from Latvia (might be subject to customs fees?). However, the mesh is light grey, for some reason.

So, as you can see, there has been a lot of thought gone into it. However, it was still just a guess and you can only ask what people will be willing to pay so I am open to offers. :)

Unfortunately I agree with @jasecasecarr

I bought everything you're selling on here except the central meshes for £85 posted (which was cheap tbf). Redrilled the existing hoops, as I have done multiple times when fitting these. The markings are on the inside of the hoops.

If you're fixed on that price I think you're in the wrong market place.
Thanks for your comment. Perhaps you might like to read my answer to the previous person... :)

Unbelievable! 🤣🤣🤣

Astonishing! 🤣🤣🤣

Astonishing how?

Attempt give information to a member on what my experience was re price I paid on here.

Genuine input from real life experience that asking may be a bit ambitious here. Linked below where I bought mine.

He has responded with his reasoning which is absolutely fine. Open forum if I'm prepared to post im also prepared for any response. His item and he can ask whatever he wants.

You on the other hand can just fuckety f**k right off you absolute fucking bell end

Before, on that car for sale thread, you were all trying to defend yourselves by claiming that the issues were:

A. That the seller was a professional trader
B. That he was someone who had just joined the forum for sole purpose of selling the car and nothing else
C. That his description of the item i.e. the car was inaccurate and misleading

You, and the usual suspects, then used those criteria to justify disparaging his advert, the car, the price and even his persona, thus completely blighting his car and the potential of a sale.

Now, lets look at this advert:

A. The seller is not a professional trader
B. The seller is not someone who just joined this forum for the sole purpose of selling this item. Their avatar would suggest that they are an Active forum member
C. The description of the item/s being offered seems full, clear, detailed and accurate

Yet, nevertheless, despite all of this it is ASTONISHING ( yes, ASTONISHING) and despite what occurred and was said on the other thread that within only a few hours, you cannot keep your snout out of other people’s business and keep your gob shut!

Now, it seems that you, and other members of the posse, are taking umbrage to the price that someone is offering to sell one of their possessions for!

You even state that you already have one of these and also publicly state that you bought it for much less than he wants for his! Therefore, unless you want two of these for some reason, it seems very likely that you do not have any intention of buying this item but by your words have now openly undermined his sale. For what purpose?

Something that is again absolutely none of your business!

Do you go into supermarkets and stand there, in the aisles, publicly arguing with the shop assistants about the price that they are asking for a loaf of bread and telling all the other shoppers that you just bought the same item, in another shop, for half the price?!
Of course not! No one would do that….except perhaps for some deranged lunatic. But, that is EXACTLY what you are doing here. And, it not just once….it is a perennial phenomenon here.

THAT IS WHAT IS ASTONISHING. The fact that you simply cannot control yourself. It’s like an endemic disease amongst a certain group of people on this forum.

(BTW I think ‘forum rules’ seem to suggest that you might need to change some of your vowels to ‘e’s, in your post above. Then, it seems to be ok)

So now, with that in mind, you can feck off and run along to see what other people’s adverts you can torpedo, in your usual snide manner, you pathetic little twet!

Mate, I genuinely think we need to start a separate thread to get you some therapy 😂 You really need to calm down. This is an open forum and people are perfectly entitled to comment on an advert and give their opinion on the price. The seller can ask whatever he likes, and buyers can decide whether they think it represents good value. If someone genuinely thinks it’s a cracking buy at £415, they’re still going to buy it, my opinion isn’t going to stop them. Nobody is forcing the seller to change his price or preventing him from selling it. I gave my opinion, the seller explained his reasoning, and that could quite easily have been the end of it. It really isn’t the personal vendetta you seem to think it is.

Ok. My "For Sale" post has descended into a "bitching fest"... What is going on? What has this forum descended into?

I have been really corteous and polite in my previous replies but now, I must add that I have NEVER seen this before. Well, firstly I must say that this is the first time I post an ad to sell an item on any forum and people feel entitled to post on a thread to comment on the price.

The only posts in a "for sale" thread I have ever seen before are the usual, "is it still available?", "would this fit a .... model?", etc... As I said, I have never seen before anyone commenting on the price of an item for sale, in any of the many forums I have been / am a member of.

If you don't like the price of an item, you move onto the next ad. Time/lack of interest will tell me that the selling price needs adjusting. I never requested anyone's opinion on the price.
Alternatively, if you are interested in the item, you could message me directly to negotiate a price. What you don't do is bomb the ad by adding comments on the price, specially if you were not interested in buying the item.

It seems to me that both of the two members (jasecasecarr and argyll andy) that commented have forgotten that this is not a thread about a problem with a car or asking people's opinions obout something. You are more than welcome to give me your opinion about the price, even if I never asked for it, but at least do so by private message in order to not undermine the ad.

Same principle as for anything else; if you don't like the prices at Waitrose, you go to Aldi. You just don't go to Waitrose, stand at the door and tell other shoppers what a rip off those prices are, like member derin100 says.

Of course, there's freedom of speech, you can say anything about anything. It goes the same for this forum, the difference is that we should communicate and use it with "courtesy, respect and etiquette". It's not right to undermine a potential sale item. This "for sale" thread now has become a farce.

Any admin here to delete the whole thread so that I can re-post it again, please?

Great context and as you say the deflectors for the hoops don't come up very often to create the full set.

I'd assumed you had simply removed them from your 2009 3.0i that was unfortunately written off not realising you had bought them from BMW direct.

Obviously a set purchased in 2024/25 from BMW compared to a set removed from a 2009 car are worth more 👍

I wouldn't worry to much on the basis any comment keeps your ad at the top of the for sale thread and most members will simply ignore the posts from @derin100

As for the comments from @jasecasecarr and @Argyll Andy they were simply commenting based on their experiences and positively established what you are selling is not a second hand full wind deflector set from a 2009 car but a 1 year old set purchased from BMW.

If you are keen to stick with the original listing price can I suggest you update your initial post to confirm the above and clearly highlight the saving your price provides over going down the direct to BMW retail route - everyone loves a deal 👍
