Having bought a used 23i and found this forum very useful, My question for some help please is whats the purpose of the plastic cover thing behind the seats at the the centre top above the cargo net? It clips off but just exposes the bare metal with a hole in it - can I make any use of that space?

It's just a little cubby hole, is there not a shelf in it? Also there was a ski hatch option which made the hole go straight through to the boot.

Ah ok cheers for the info perhaps will stick a box of tissues in there ! Unfortunately no straight through to back it's just got bare metal behind so the space is probs about 3 inches deep only. It looks scruffy when the clip panel is off - do you know if I can get a door cover for it? Thanks

Yeah, I think he’s talking about the plastic cover over the rear centre speaker hole on models that don’t have the centre speakers. The cubby and ski hatch (if fitted) is below that.

Yeah I now know it's the rear centre speaker hole based on the replies . I'll use the space for bits and bobs , but if anybody has a speaker there I would be interested to know if that's a useful add on?

If you have the Professional speaker package, there are a couple of speakers fitted behind it. If you don't, it's just a blanking cover. I think retrofitting the speakers isn't a realistic option as you'd need the bigger amp with the extra connections.
Cheers, Dave
