E89 steering rack removal

Recently got error code A54B and failed power steering. Battery is new so must be eps itself, there are some remaufactured options on ebay that are cheaper than ECUtesting rebuild so am thinking of replacing entire rack.

Does anyone have a video on how to remove steering rack on e89, I cant seem to find anything?

Seems like steering rack replacements are coming thick and fast. I have a feeling the recent hot weather has something to do with it, combined with the known problems of early E89 units. Mine is being replaced on Monday due to failure.

In terms of replacement, I haven't seen any specific videos but looking at the rack, where its positioned and the amount of bolts, it shouldn't be difficult. Steering wheel and road wheel alignment will be two things that will need to be setup correctly.

Also, it is worth considering replacing tie rods at the same time. I'm replacing mine with new Lemforder units.
