Got a wave from a zed heading the opposite way to me today, but I wasn't awake enough to wave back- A10 just south of Stretham around 6:45
Could have been me but I think it's about 30min too late. Mine is VO & I was driving top-down, waved at a dark blue E89 top up .

The one I saw was top-up, although I'm blue and was also top-up today... Will have to keep my eyes peeled more!

I think this is cheating, but I don't care. That's lovely! :P

Given that front bumper I'd assume he's in the US so probably less chance of being spotted or spotting another one.......well at least by a member on here.

Valencia Orange heading east on Ferry Road this morning at around 7:30ish. Younger male, mid to late 30s? Dark hair and sunnies on.

And with windows that tinted, it would not survive that long on the road either without being pulled

correct, i am in the US, and Z4's are not common here at all.

window tint maximum in my state is 35%. this tint is lighter at 45%. when/if it starts to peel, i'll replace it with 35%.

Just out of curiosity, before they fit any film to the check the tint level already on the Windows as standard? Only reason I ask is the tint on the Windows although not black is 30% so adding a 45% film actually brings it higher than the state allows.

3xE89 spotted today - all black. First one around 0800 in Martin, second around 0845 near Newark on the A46 ring road, and the last this afternoon around 16:20 in Newark. Not a single wave in response.....

do you mean put tint on top of tint?
no installer would do that; remove old tint, put on new.

No, there is a tint within the glass itself that cannot be removed. It's in most if not all glass in modern cars to cut down on UV rays.

ah... the tint IN the glass has almost no darkening & wouldn't be considered as part of it.
tint film applied at the factory does.

Suppose it different in the US to the UK but in the UK the police can use a light detector to check the level of a tint as a percentage on a cars Windows. We are only allowed 30% by law front of the B pillar, you can go as dark as you want to the rear of the B Pillar and this is usually the manufactures inbuilt tint, although not dark, it is coloured and designed to reflect and stop a portion of UV Ray's. Light colour of a tint does not always equal a very low or no light stopping ability.

If we add a tint to it and you are pulled it can be checked and it would then exceed the 30% front of the B Pillar rule and you would be required to remove it.

Orange e89 parked up in the far corner of a car park in lakeside....with another car doing naughty things. Apologises for interrupting but it's my job
