E89 service intervals

Are there any key services that the E89 needs to have at specific times?

I vaguely remember my E85 Alpina needing inspection 1 around 1200 miles (or something along those lines).

Just so I know what to look for, in the service history, when buying.

Thanks

Generally looking from 2013 to 2016. Any 2L engine. White exterior. Parking sensors. Nav not too important but would prefer it.

I've seen a few trade and private that look interesting. The trade ones are below:

This looks a great price but customer reviews of the dealership are all over the place. I've emailed them about service intervals.

This looks decent. Emailed about service intervals too.

Below is a 2012 but has Nav and seems a decent price. Not a huge fan of red leather but I could live with it for the right price.
Dealership were quick in replying with service intervals.

I'm out of the country until the 4th Jan so am looking at setting up viewings for when I'm back. I'm glad I'm away as the longer I wait, the more I learn about the car and what I should go for.

Hi, I’ve read the service intervals for the 20i were revised from 15k/2years down to 10k/2years.

The 2012 seems like a nice car the other cheap one is under specced..

On these cars need heated seats..sat nav , usb support, cruise , 11 speaker radio are nice to have...if you are going to re chip the 8 speed auto is a great match.. oh..m sport seats too

I have the oil and oil filter changed in my 35is every 6000 miles or once per year (I do low mileages in it) irrespective of what the service indicator says and I do not reset the service indicator when I've done these interim changes. I pay a local garage who is a an ex BMW tech to do it. BMW change the oil at the service interval and I then get the service stamp which is important on the 35is for resale.

Regular oil and filter changes are the most important preventative maintenance procedure you can do - the oil contacts so many things inside the engine.

For the N20 engines general consensus is 6,000 miles or annual for oil n filter change....allegedly most of the N20 engines come from prolonged oil changes and start/stop engine use..

I agree with what's been said about the oil change intervals, to keep the engine at peak condition best to do it every 5 to 6K miles or every year, I have the 30i but this can be applied to almost any engine / car. The problem is since BMW's official schedule says 20K miles or 2 years (condition based servicing) most of the previous owners will only have carried out the servicing according this schedule. It would be almost impossible to find a car that has had the oil changed this frequently from day one, the only thing you can do is find a well looked after example and then switch to changing the oil frequently. Of the examples you have indicated the 2012 model looks like good value to me.
